Londen is dit jaar de host van de MTV EMA 2017, zo maakt MTV, onderdeel van Viacom International Media Networks vandaag bekend. Vorig jaar was Rotterdam nog gaststad van de grootste internationale muziekavond. Dit jaar kunnen muziekfans wereldwijd op zondag 12 november 2017 de 24ste editie van de MTV EMA vanuit The SSE Arena, Wembley live op MTV volgen.
“London is arguably the world’s musical epicentre and it’s both a huge privilege and opportunity to bring the MTV EMAs 2017 to the UK’s capital city,” aldus David Lynn, CEO van MTV’s internationale moederbedrijf, Viacom International Media Networks. “The EMA creates an incredible buzz wherever it lands; that will be amplified tenfold in London.”
De burgemeester van Londen, Sadiq Khan, laat weten: "After two decades away, the MTV EMAs are returning to electrify the greatest city in the world once again. Het wordt de zesde keer dat het Verenigd Koninkrijk de MTV EMA host. Na Londen in 1996 waren ook Edinburgh (2003), Liverpool (2008), Belfast (2011) and Glasgow (2014) gaststeden.
