A Colossal Weekend adds seven new Danish acts to its 10-year anniversary edition in 2026
A COLOSSAL WEEKEND can announce another strong wave of Danish artists for A COLOSSAL WEEKEND 2026, taking place May 7–9 at VEGA and Basement in Copenhagen.
With just under 100 days to go until the 10th edition of A COLOSSAL WEEKEND, and names such as RUSSIAN CIRCLES, CULT OF LUNA, BLACKWATER HOLYLIGHT, SLIFT, and many more already announced, the festival is shaping up to be a hard-hitting celebration of a decade of uncompromising, curated heavy music. Now, the festival’s bookers are ready with seven additional names that add new nuances, frictions, and connections to the program:
Aarhus-based SUNKEN — a band that has been on the festival’s radar for some time — will appear at A COLOSSAL WEEKEND for the first time. With the album Lykke, SUNKEN made a strong mark in 2025 with one of the year’s most powerful releases within atmospheric black metal.
MEEJAH and HIRAKI are both well-known names in the A COLOSSAL WEEKEND context, but in 2026 they join forces as MEEJAH X HIRAKI, presenting their collaborative album Interwoven live. The collaboration, released on March 13 via Pelagic Records, unfolds a dense, texture-oriented field of tension between electronic composition and acoustic resonance.
EYES also return to A COLOSSAL WEEKEND following last year’s powerhouse release SPINNER, which received significant recognition both domestically and internationally. The band has firmly established itself as one of the most uncompromising and energetic acts on the Danish hardcore scene.
The post-black project LYSBAERER will release the album Troldom on February 27 and is likewise added to the lineup. With their dark, atmospheric expression, LYSBAERER operate in the tension field between the ritualistic and the explosive and have emerged as a striking new name in the Danish underground.
Copenhagen-based THROWE will make their A COLOSSAL WEEKEND debut, bringing their Danish-language hardcore to the festival with an uncompromising expression and a clear focus on both physical intensity and psychological weight.
Chaos, vulnerability, and collective release merge in an intense live format when Aarhus-based PUKE WOLF take the stage with their unique and all-consuming approach to screamo and post-hardcore — a band that insists on presence, surrender, and an all-encompassing physicality.
Last but not least, the Danish-German violinist NILS GRÖNDAHL is added, known for his unorthodox approach to the instrument and his ability to create, explore, and unfold new musical borderlands.
These new additions add further weight to an already musically striking program, which is distributed across the festival’s three days as follows:

With these additions, the program is nearly complete, though more names will be announced in the coming months.
