Above & Beyond have partnered with Apple Music for the next edition of the platform's acclaimed One Mix series, the platform’s premier showcase of the world’s best DJs. Recorded and presented in immersive Spatial Audio, the hour-long continuous mix revisits music spanning the trio's career, from their seminal debut album ‘Tri-State’ through their latest studio album ‘Bigger Than All Of Us,’ offering listeners an immersive new way to experience some of the band's most enduring recordings.

Rather than assembling a straightforward retrospective, Above & Beyond’s Jono Grant, Paavo Siljamäki and Tony McGuinness returned to the original multitrack sessions behind songs that have defined the band’s evolution over the past two and a half decades. Revisiting those recordings in Spatial Audio uncovered subtle musical details, harmonies and textures often hidden within traditional stereo mixes, giving longtime favorites new depth while preserving the emotion that has made them resonate with audiences around the world.

"This is a retrospective mix featuring music of ours from the last 25 years, from ‘Tri-State’ to ‘Bigger Than All Of Us,’ and all points in between," say Above & Beyond. "It's been very revealing to deep dive into old projects, remembering the parts that aren't so obvious in the stereo mix, that become players in the Spatial Audio mix. We're grateful to the team at Apple for giving people such an immersive, multi-channel experience. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we've enjoyed making it."

The One Mix continues Above & Beyond's creative relationship with Apple Music following the trio's appearance on Apple Music 1, where they sat down with Zane Lowe for an in-depth conversation about ‘Bigger Than All Of Us,’ discussing the album's themes of connection, creativity, mental health, and the enduring community that has grown around their music. Flowing seamlessly across fifteen tracks, the mix traces the band's musical journey through defining releases including "Don't Leave," "Can't Sleep," "Blue Monday," "We're All We Need," "Sun & Moon," "Northern Soul," "Blue Sky Action," and "Walter White," alongside more recent favorites including "Gratitude," "Quicksand (Don't Go)," "Start A Fire," and "Bigger Than All Of Us." The journey concludes with the newly reimagined 2025 version of "Good For Me," bringing the band's past and present together in a single continuous listening experience.

For Above & Beyond, the project became more than simply creating a DJ mix. It offered the opportunity to rediscover songs that have accompanied fans through countless moments over the years, hearing familiar recordings from an entirely new perspective. With the task of mixing each individual track in Spatial Audio, the format allows for layers of melodies, vocal arrangements, and instrumental details to emerge with newfound clarity, creating an experience that feels both nostalgic and entirely fresh.

About Above & Beyond

Above & Beyond, or Jono, Tony, and Paavo, as they are better known to their legions of fans worldwide, have been at the forefront of electronic dance music for two decades.

Founders of the iconic Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep record labels and hosts of a weekly radio show that reaches millions of dance lovers every Friday (Group Therapy), the trio has earned two GRAMMYTM nominations for the anthems “Northern Soul” feat. Richard Bedford and “We're All We Need” feat. Zoë Johnston. In 2018, the band’s fourth electronic album, ‘Common Ground,’ debuted at number three on the Official Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

Described by UK music bible Q Magazine as “the world’s biggest cult band,” Above & Beyond's enviable list of sold-out shows includes headline performances at historic venues like Madison Square Garden in NYC, Hollywood Bowl, The Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall London, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre, as well as record-breaking turnouts for their own festival events on LA's Huntington Beach and at The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington State.

Songwriters and producers first, and DJs second, Above & Beyond’s unwavering commitment to their craft has fuelled a career that many electronic artists today might only dream of: four acclaimed electronic studio albums, 16 compilation albums (Anjunabeats Volume series), two ‘acoustic’ albums, and a stand-alone album for yoga and meditation - not to mention innumerable club cuts and dance remixes.
