Absolutely drops enigmatic new single “Fever Dream”
released today – the latest single from South London’s Absolutely, who continues her growth with the release of “Fever Dream”, an evocative, emotional, and enigmatic new single released on Epic Records / Black Butter Records
The track unspools like a dusty old gramophone recording with a hazy jazz beat and off-kilter piano, before guitars curl around her delicate delivery on the verses as she assures, “No, I don’t need your lies tonight.” The momentum takes a left turn as the song blasts off into an otherworldly crescendo – coming through as the latest episode of a unique sound which Absolutely has self-described as ‘alien pop’.
This latest release from Absolutely follows from the boundary blurring, cinematic overtones of “Patterns” (which has already racked up 100K streams) as well as her debut single “Higher” (watch) – produced by Dave Hamelin [Beyoncé, 070 Shake], the stellar music video sees Absolutely elevated through breath-taking environments and eventually blasted off into space, introducing viewers into her world where her creative bounds know no limits as a dynamic and disruptive artistic visionary.
Excitingly, Absolutely has also been announced as the support artist on Raye’s My 21stCentury Blues World Tour. This marks her first major tour, kicking off on Friday September 29th in Washington, D.C. and rolling through major cities such as LA, New York, Chicago, Toronto, Atlanta and Nashville, as well as Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and Newcastle in the UK.
Architecting a universe of genre-blending sounds cycling in synchronistic orbit unlike anything else, Absolutely is on track to become one of the UK’s most exciting musical exports to emerge in 2023
