After eight years of creative break Saybia releases new album

It is a close-knit band who has sold several hundred thousands of albums, released more than a handful of hit singles and played several hundreds gigs around Europe who is now ready to release a completely new album on V2.

It's now almost fourteen years since the band's first EP was released - an EP that made it clear to the audience that Saybia was an experienced band with a talent for writing both timeless and powerful songs. The songs quickly made it onto the charts and within a few months were Saybia famous in their native country.

The band's first single, The Day After Tomorrow, paved the way for a debut album, which went directly to the top of the Danish album chart in early 2002. The album was followed by a series of concerts that sold out quickly, as word spread about a band had soon gained a reputation for being a great live band.

During the following year the debut album was released in the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Norway, and in each country Saybia quickly gained a loyal fan base, not least thanks to the title song of the debut album, The Second You Sleep, which became an instant hit.

In 2004 Saybia's second album, These are the days, was released in Europe. The album was mixed by Tchad Blake in the Real World Studios in England, and Anton Corbijn shot the iconic band images for the album cover. The singles, I Surrender and Brilliant Sky, became radio hits in several countries and Saybia's success was thus cemented prior to the recording of their third album, Eyes On The Highway (2007). The touring continued throughout 2007, but the band members were beginning to feel exhausted.

Success in every respect also meant pressure from the record label and booking agencies, not to mention the band's own desire to excel. Seven years of constant promotion and touring in several countries had left its mark. In 2008 Saybia announced a break, which became an eight year long creative break.

During the break Saybia’s members have been involved in separate projects. The band's lead singer Søren Huss has released two solo albums in his native language, Danish. Both albums have gained enormous recognition in the media and found their way to the top of album and air play charts in Denmark.

Saybia did, however, start playing live gigs again after af couple of years. Already in 2010 the band played a couple of gigs in Austria and Switzerland, and in 2011 Saybia played a handful of concerts in Denmark and the Netherlands.

The work on what was to become the fourth Saybia album didn’t begin until a couple of years ago, however, when lead singer Søren Huss and bass player Jeppe Knudsen arranged a weekly meeting. Every Tuesday the two of them would meet up in order to write new songs in an informal and playful atmosphere with no intention of making a new album.

When the two had finished a pile of sketches for new songs the rest of the band started to join in. Soon the idea of actually recording a new album became a reality.

During this proces the band's guitarist on the first three albums, Sebastian Sandstrom, chose to leave Saybia in favor of other projects. Instead the band has been joined by guitar player Kasper Rasmussen - who has been a friend of the band since they met at a national rock competition in 1998 (where both Kasper’s band and Saybia attended). Palle Sørensen is still on drums and Jess Jensen is still on keyboards.

Saybia's fourth album, No Sound From The Outside, has been recorded during 2014 and 2015 in Los Angeles, USA and Copenhagen, Denmark.
