Alan Vuong releases indie-rock inspired ballad "FOR CERTAIN?!" + Highly anticipated EP on 6/26 and upcoming New York release show
Today, Southern California-based artist alan vuong (stylized with lower cases) released his latest single “FOR CERTAIN?!” Cinematic, pensive and romantic, the indie-rock inspired ballad is the latest installment of his upcoming EP, HEAVEN SENT ME, slated for release on June 26. Building on top of his signature r&b flow, this project sees the mysterious hitmaker pivoting for a nu-psychdelic indie rock sound. With hits from the project including “DEEP IN YOUR SOUL,” “TELL ‘EM YOU’RE MINE” and “TOO LATE FOR YOU,” alan vuong has already amounted over 139 million total Spotify streams ahead of the announcement–despite being completely independent with no label, no management, no distribution deal.
On “FOR CERTAIN?!” alan vuong said: “This record is all about uncertainty and the challenges of committing to something or someone. The back and forth of emotions in a relationship and not knowing what's for sure, not knowing if it's going to last, not knowing what the future expectations might hold."
Regarding HEAVEN SENT ME, alan vuong declared: “I’ve been working on ‘HEAVEN SENT ME’ since 2022 and it was actually meant for something different that I was working on, but I enjoyed working on it so much that I wanted to release these new sounds as ‘alan vuong.’ I felt as if in my heart, I wanted to do more and wanted to keep seeing what else I can do as an individual. At this point in time, this body of work is a symbol for me to keep evolving, to never box myself in and to chase what else God and life has in store for me. I believe this project is the first step in that direction and beyond that, I can’t wait to share so much more of what’s to come. - ”

alan vuong’s grandest vision yet and a stand-alone cinematic sonic-verse, HEAVEN SENT ME is a metaphoric study of unrequited love, forgotten dreams and whispered confessions. While thematically, the songs may be leaving behind more pondering questions than answers, alan vuong has never sounded more assured. Blending 2010s Southern California indie rock and classic 90s pop with his Soundcloud rap background, at times even doing a r&b flow on a post-punk beat, on HEAVEN SENT ME, alan vuong managed to perfect his sleek production with dazzling falsettos and unforgettable hooks.
Recently, alan vuong played his first headline Los Angeles show to a sold out audience at the Moroccan Lounge. This show followed his debut headline show that took place in alan’s hometown, in Santa Ana at the Observatory Room. In June, alan is set to play New York City (The Mercury Lounge, June 24th) for the first time, with more potential one-off headlines later in the summer in other major U.S. cities. With this coming era, the mostly anonymous prodigy wants to be in the spotlight and challenges every boundary possible. Tickets for his upcoming New York City show are on sale now.

ABOUT ALAN VUONG:
If you ever found yourself cruising through downtown LA and Southern California’s meticulous freeway systems at 3am, try cranking up alan vuong’s music in the car.
Reminiscent of the nebulous era of neon-noir, alan vuong’s nu-psychdelic tinted brand of r&b sounds effortlessly excellent. He cares less about weaving genres–though he is certainly masterful at doing so–alan vuong attempts to capture feelings that persist through past, present and future. Whether it is unrequited love, a fading illusion, flickering hope or an unflinching desire, he has the ability to paint just the right sonic dreamscape, that feeling of well, sometimes, it just doesn’t work out.
Always referencing his roots in Soundcloud-era rap and R&B, with sparing and intentional uses of synth wave, this new era of alan vuong is avidly more psychedelic and indie-inspired. His upcoming EP, HEAVEN SENT ME, sounds undeniably Southern California. At just 23, alan vuong’s music is scarily good at capturing the cyclical nature of love and that dazed and confused feeling–so good that it has won the hearts of millions. “DEEP IN YOUR SOUL,” the first single off of the upcoming project has amounted over 41 million streams on Spotify–and that’s despite the fact that alan vuong has done this all alone: no label, no management, no distribution deal, just a one man show from the very beginning.
His ability to produce one hit after another makes alan vuong one of this generation’s most anticipated hit machines, yet this is only the beginning. With the upcoming project, the hazy dreamscapes become something cohesive and a world of its own. With his falsetto vocals taking center stage, chasing the dreams and phantoms of the past with audacious production experiments, he is saying the things that have been left unsaid. This time around, the mostly-anonymous musician that has soundtracked the lives of millions wants you to put the spotlight on him. You can catch alan vuong on the road this year: both his debut in Santa Ana and Los Angeles sold out weeks in advance, with another New York headline date slated for late June. This time around, it’s no longer just about the feelings: alan vuong wants to be seen.
