Alberta Cross To Release New Single ‘Low Man’ Featuring Ed Harcourt Out Today - New Album ‘The Thief And The Heartbreaker (Re-Imagined)’ 22nd November

Alberta Cross releases new single and live performance ‘Low Man (featuring Ed Harcourt)’. Moving and heartfelt, the track navigates feelings of isolation and feeling troubled with decisions.

Alberta Cross vocalist Petter Ericson Stakee comments on the single, “I’ve always loved Ed’s music since the early London days. He’s an insane next level singer and songwriter. Legendary in my opinion. He’s also a class dude and mate and I’m blessed to have him on this record and also to have worked with him at his awesome studio ‘Wolf Cabin’ a few times. I hope everyone enjoys this version of ‘Low Man’ as much as we do. It feels really special and our voices really work grand together”.

Ed Harcourt adds, “Petter seems to be the oil in the social machine & I for one am enamoured by his Zelig-like aura, just to be approached to ruin his song, was the ultimate goal on everyone’s minds. But luckily my hair dye won in the end?’

The track features on forthcoming album "The Thief And The Heartbreaker (Re-Imagined)" which is due for release on 22 November via Dark Matter/Austral Media with Kartel Music Group.

A new take on Alberta Cross’s 2007 debut, which set the foundation for their Americana-tinged indie and alternative sound, the re-imagined album hosts a wealth of musical collaborations from friends. Re-recorded in Frome, Somerset, at Ethan John and Dom Monks (Big Thief) Bert Jansch studio, the release was self-produced by Alberta Cross vocalist Petter Ericson Stakee, and mastered at the hallowed Abbey Road Studios with 360 Mastering.

So far, there have been a handful of tracks from the album - "Hard Breaks (feat. Joseph Arthur & Dan Mangan)", "Devil’s All You Ever Had (featuring Dylan Leblanc & Tomas Andersson)", alongside "The Thief And The Heartbreaker (featuring Band Of Skulls", "Old Man Chicago (featuring Jack Savoretti)" and "Lucy Rider (featuring Katie Melua)". It’s clear from these singles that Alberta Cross’s debut remains timeless. Their re-works honour the original whilst breathing new life into each track through collaborating with musicians that have crossed paths with the band over the course of their twenty year career.

Originally released in 2007 as a collection of self produced demos, Alberta Cross’s debut ‘The Thief and The Heartbreaker’ set the blueprint of their sound. “It felt so great writing those songs” recalls Petter. “Wherever I play in the world, I still have to play them. It felt so pure, it was one of the most exciting times I’ve had as a songwriter”.

What followed was success on both sides of the Atlantic and the relentless grind of US touring that comes with it. They embarked on high-profile jaunts with Mumford & Sons, Portugal. The Man, Neil Young, Them Crooked Vultures and Rag N’ Bone Man and performed on distinguished TV shows around the globe, appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman, Last Call with Carson Daly and more, whilst their tracks were featured on hit TV shows such as Million Little Pieces, Sons Of Anarchy and Californication
