Thomas Giustini release debut album- COMPOSITIO
At just 23 years old, Thomas Giustini represents a new generation of multidisciplinary artists for whom there are no boundaries between artistic disciplines. A self-taught composer, filmmaker, visual artist and fashion designer from Rome, Italy, Giustini approaches every aspect of his work as a single, interconnected creative practice. Every sound, image, frame, edit and visual concept is conceived, created and executed entirely by him, resulting in works that dissolve the lines between music, cinema and visual art.
His debut project, COMPOSITIO, is an ambitious multimedia statement unlike a conventional album release. At its centre sits a 17-track instrumental record, accompanied by 17 individually crafted music videos, all of which combine to form a feature-length film. Rather than existing as separate pieces, each element functions as part of a continuously evolving whole — a living artistic organism that shifts between sound, image and narrative.
Musically, COMPOSITIO occupies a space where contemporary classical composition, electronic experimentation, ambient music and noise intersect. Every composition was performed live on keyboard, using sounds created primarily from samples of Giustini's own voice, manipulated through granular and spectral synths while deliberately retaining their raw, unpolished character. Fretless bass and electric guitar, also performed by Giustini, add further texture and movement throughout the record, creating a body of work that feels both intimate and expansive.
The project's visual world follows the same philosophy. Giustini personally directed, animated and edited each of the album's seventeen films before weaving them together into a standalone feature-length work. Music and image exist as one inseparable language, each composition extending beyond sound into motion, symbolism and cinematic space.
The album will be released through Italian independent label EGEA via its Musica Viva imprint, introducing Giustini's singular artistic vision to a wider audience.
Yet COMPOSITIO extends even further. Alongside the album, films and feature-length presentation, the project unfolds through an anonymous online Alternate Reality Game (ARG), inviting audiences into a cryptic world of hidden clues, interconnected narratives and collective discovery. Rather than simply listening to the record, listeners are encouraged to decode, investigate and inhabit its universe, transforming the release into an immersive multimedia experience.
For Giustini, however, COMPOSITIO is less a collection of songs than the beginning of a lifelong artistic language. "This album emerged during a particular moment in my life,” he explains. “It was an ancient idea that had existed within me for a long time, but had never become clear until one day I simply found myself playing it. It arrived naturally, as a flow. Although I've spent years studying and developing my own sound, this is the first music I've ever released. COMPOSITIO is personal, intrapersonal and universal all at once, and it will continue to evolve throughout my life. I don't want to define it, because definitions only limit the experience of life itself. This is simply the beginning — part of a source. This is COMPOSITIO for me."
Individual compositions act as emotional and conceptual landmarks within the wider work. Opening single ‘UNIVERSO’ serves as one of the album's central anchors, establishing the gravitational core around which the entire project revolves. ‘Angelico Rumoristico’ meanwhile juxtaposes sacred, almost Gregorian-inspired harmonies with textures of interference and the noise of life, exploring the tension between purity and disturbance. “When the angels speak, they touch and shake you,” says Giustini, “they do not just pass by to say hello.”
Elsewhere, ‘vicinO’ shifts into an intimate meditation on perception, closeness and movement, while album closer ‘Rumorismo Reverse’ culminates in six uncompromising minutes of layered distorted guitars and voice-driven composition, moving from confrontation towards a fragile sense of resolution.
Across all seventeen pieces, Giustini's own sampled voice remains the project's defining instrument, transformed into an expressive sonic palette that is at once deeply personal and strikingly universal.
With COMPOSITIO, Thomas Giustini presents a complete artistic ecosystem—one in which composition, performance, film, technology and visual language become inseparable parts of a single creative vision. It is a remarkable debut from an artist intent not on fitting into existing disciplines, but on constructing an entirely new one.
