Album out now: The Supermen Lovers "Coco Bingo"

A wild ride into a party without limits, Coco Bingo takes listeners on a journey where every track is a stop, a gateway, a new level to explore!

Just as The Supermen Lovers was thinking of calling it quits, Coco Bingo emerged from a renewed burst of inspiration: a breath of fresh air and a message to his audience: “It’s not that deep — let’s take the time to live and enjoy ourselves.” Born of chance encounters and happy accidents, the tracks on Coco Bingo capture those serendipitous moments.

For his fifth album, The Supermen Lovers returns to his roots, exploring electro, house and disco sounds while embracing the influences of his guest artists. He teams up with Nicole Slack Jones, a gospel-influenced singer from New Orleans who has worked with Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie and Aloe Blacc. Joining him is the talented Key Jones, a BRIT Award and BAFTA nominee whose collaborators include Lost Frequencies, David Guetta and Ben Nicky. César Chouraqui, Alexis Perez and singer Morgan Kibby, formerly of M83, also join this journey into his world.

“Ultimately, Coco Bingo is an album for anyone who wants to dance without overthinking it. Radiant and feel-good, with a distinctly disco-pop spirit, Coco Bingo is packed with infectious melodies and feel-good mantras.”

Each single comes with its own distinctive, immersive visual world. Quirky short films follow Franky as he explores the different floors of a surreal hotel, a metaphor for the party that is Coco Bingo. Along the way, Franky discovers fun, the freedom of letting go, and much more... From human-sized dogs to bouncing fruit and dancing hippos, these shorts, created by @artificialbullshits, take us on a journey every bit as vivid as The Supermen Lovers’ music.

Bringing this party atmosphere to life, The Supermen Lovers hosts a residency at Café Chéri(e), with an event to mark each single release. Each evening features a game of bingo followed by a DJ set from The Supermen Lovers, gradually revealing the world of Coco Bingo.

With “Coloque Seu Canudo”, The Supermen Lovers introduced listeners to the world of Coco Bingo. With its exuberant choral hook and bouncing basslines, “Coloque Seu Canudo” celebrates letting go. The result is a gloriously offbeat, sun-soaked pop track that sticks in your head from the very first listen and gets your body moving.

“One & More” delivers the vibrant electro-disco sound that has become The Supermen Lovers’ signature. On this decidedly disco track, the artist pays tribute to all the divas who have sung about love. The message is clear: celebrate love freely and dance. Sitting between pop and electro, the single reveals another side of the artist. Drawing strongly on Moroder’s sound, “One & More” is, above all, built to get dancefloors sweating.

“Dancing in the Rain”, the third single, fully embraces its pop influences. Its infectious chorus, designed to stick from the very first listen, reconnects us with our inner child and those moments of simple joy that can make everything else melt away and bring back a smile — like dancing in the rain.

The singles have received an international response, earning placements on streaming playlists and radio airplay across South America, Asia and Europe. They have also enjoyed considerable club success, with “Coloque Seu Canudo” notably peaking at No. 4 on the Yacast Club 40 chart.

ABOUT THE SUPERMEN LOVERS

Listening to TSL’s records means immersing yourself in a timeless musical wave and discovering a unique, organic sound, crafted from synthesisers, samples and real instruments played live — instantly recognisable from the very first bar.

Catapulted into the spotlight by “Starlight” in 2001, Guillaume Atlan, better known as The Supermen Lovers, has since built a rich musical career that has inspired an entirely new electronic scene: nu-disco.

A pianist who graduated from the Paris Conservatoire, he discovered electronic music through the emergence of the Chicago and Detroit house scenes, as well as pioneers Daft Punk and Étienne de Crécy. He soon founded his own label, Lafessé Records, in 1999 to release his first 12-inch singles, before heading to England to sign his SCHOOL project to Cyclo. His debut EP, Underground Disco, then marked the beginning of The Supermen Lovers’ adventure.

“Starlight” reached No. 1 in nearly 20 countries and was the most-played French song worldwide in 2001–2002. The world sang and danced to “Starlight”, securing the artist’s place among the great electronic music producers. Accompanied by a music video directed by David Nicolas Honoré De Barzolff, “Starlight” earned The Supermen Lovers nominations at the Victoires de la Musique and the MTV Europe Music Awards.

Since then, The Supermen Lovers has released more than 13 projects, including the tracks “Take A Chance”, “Family Business” and “Diamonds For Her”! Now working in a co-production partnership with independent label la Tebwa and Universal Music France (Polydor), The Supermen Lovers returns with a series of tracks that capture the essence of his world: a blend of French touch and disco futurism — elegant, eccentric, cinematic and groovy!
