Alex Amor reveals 'Inside' - final single from debut album 'Heavenly Bodies' - out 21 August via VERO Music

Scottish singer-songwriter Alex Amor releases new single 'Inside' - the final preview of debut album 'Heavenly Bodies' - out 21st August via New York independent label VERO Music. Amor has also been added to the bill for All Points East's Lorde headline day on 22nd August.

The heartbeat of her upcoming debut full-length, 'Inside' is what Alex describes as "a sad-banger lullaby for loved ones gone too soon". A buoyant, guitar-led indie-pop anthem that finds her holding joy and grief in the same hand, "it takes a looking glass to the ugly, scared, and messy parts of my mind," Alex says - from reflections on a world "when friends aren't gonna overdose" to the fear that "if you get too close / I could lose you too".

Speaking more on the release of 'Inside', Alex Amor said:

"It’s about coming to terms with compounded grief, generational trauma and taking a stark look at one of the coping mechanisms that defined much of my twenties: dissociation. Pulling away from connection altogether to avoid the pain of needing someone, missing someone, or losing someone. Part of love is accepting loss, making space for grief, and finding the courage to feel it all. It’s a song about connection, the choice to be vulnerable, and learning that the only way through grief is to let yourself feel it."

Originally written as a sprawling poem, 'Inside' arrived in the studio with producer Baz Kaye determined to preserve every word Alex had written. The result is a five-and-a-half-minute centrepiece that pairs some of Amor's most devastating writing to date with an irrepressibly uplifting energy, informed by the sense of optimism Kaye and co-writer Peter Brien carried back from that summer's Glastonbury Festival.

The new single arrives following appearances this year at Liverpool Sound City, The Great Escape Festival, Footsteps Festival and support dates with Liang Lawrence and Prima Queen.

Alex Amor's forthcoming debut album 'Heavenly Bodies' weaves together celestial imagery, spirituality, and the vast emotional terrain of human connection, reflecting Amor’s fascination with cosmic symbolism and the belief that personal experiences mirror the rhythms of the universe.

Heavily informed by meditation, rune reading and the work of Swedish mystic Hilma af Klint, Heavenly Bodies pairs diaristic songwriting with layered, hypnotic production, marking a clear evolution from the raw indie charge of Amor's earlier work - allowing intimate confessions to unfold within shimmering guitars, floating synths and slow-burning arrangements.

Written and recorded between London and Glasgow with Peter Brien (Kojaque, Kean Kavanagh), Baz Kaye (The Blessed Madonna, Obongjayar) and Karma Kid (Jessie Ware, Jalen Ngonda), 'Heavenly Bodies' was then mixed by Matthew Neighbour (Role Model, Lord Huron) and mastered by Katie Tavini.

'Heavenly Bodies' signals the arrival of a bold and fully realised artistic voice - one unafraid to explore the space between earthly emotion and something far more infinite.

To date Alex Amor has released three EPs: her debut ‘Love Language’ in 2021 and 'The Art Of Letting Go' in 2022 and 'Super Sonic' in 2023. Her music has garnered over 8 million streams and earned widespread support across radio and press: BBC Radio 1 (Jack Saunders, Sian Eleri), The Line of Best Fit, DIY Magazine, CLASH Magazine, Dork Magazine, Wonderland, Notion, 1883 Magazine, The Skinny, Ones To Watch, The Sunday Mail and The Scotsman.

Previously Alex has performed at festivals including TRNSMT, The Great Escape, Liverpool Sound City, Live at Leeds and Dot To Dot alongside extensive UK touring and dates with Good Neighbours, Liang Lawrence, Prima Queen, Gretta Ray, Swim Deep, VLURE, amongst others.

Alex Amor's debut album 'Heavenly Bodies' will be released 21st August via VERO Music. New single 'Inside' is out now. Alex plays All Points East on 22 August before playing an intimate in-store at Rough Trade Denmark Street in London on 26th August.
