Amongster's debut album out on September 9th!

The debut album of songwriter Thomas Oosterlynck from Ghent, better known by his stage name Amongster, will be released on September 9. The first single of the album ‘Teacher’ will be out on May 20. This single is accompanied by an astonishing music video, directed by Joan Repiso.

Amongster is not coming entirely out of nowhere. In 2014, the band was chosen as one of the winners of ‘De Nieuwe Lichting’ which led them to play at the Pukkelpop festival. In 2015 the band released their first EP. The tracks ‘Bright Life’, ’Leo' and ‘Salrow' made it to the playlists of Studio Brussel and Radio 1. Additionally, the band played at various festivals and shared stages with Perfume Genius, Blaudzun and Editors, amongst others.

Amongster will take the listener on an exciting musical journey to an unknown destination. It’s impossible to place the songs on the debut album in the usual musical genres as the songs flirt along the fringes of the indie and electronica. Thomas Oosterlynck writes his songs in total seclusion, his songs safely moulded until ready to see daylight. He shares his best songs with his musical soul mate and fellow songwriter, Jasper Maekelberg (Faces on Tv, Douglas Firs, Gabriel Rios, Jef Neve,...). Besides his role of producer, composer and guitarist, Jasper is a friend and indispensable link in the development of rough demos to mature compositions.

The album will appear on V2 Records on September 9. Amongster will be performing at Pukkelpop on August 19th. The releaseshow takes place at AB in Brussels on October 13th. After that the band will tour along the Belgian clubs.
