Annabel Lee release their sophomore album ‘Drift’ on the 24th March via the label Humpty Dumpty

The Brussels based band Annabel Lee delivers a wide spectrum of rock melodies spanning from pop to garage, since 2017. The trio is set to release their sophomore album ‘Drift’ on the 24th March via the label Humpty Dumpty for Belgium and Howlin Banana for France.

The band came out of the studio in March 2022 after working with producer Amaury Sauvé. Their second LP pays particular attention to conveying the stamina of their live performances. A tangible energy owed in part to the creative process during a time period where writing was the earnest way to solve inner turmoils while keeping in touch with their music.

Initially written as a solo ballade by Andrey Marot, ‘By The Sea’ (first introspective single from ‘Drift’) was refined in the rehearsal room with Vankou and Hugo Claudel. The full band version gives it another dimension. By the Sea is this escape to a raging sea, under the rain, where we can shout and externalize all your frustration. Like a remedy when you're in the city, stuck in the daily grind, and you wish you could find a landscape that echoes your internal state of mind.

The idea behind the DIY aesthetic of the music video is that sometimes you craft your own solutions to cope with your needs. It is directed by Audrey Marot, Alexandre De Bueger and DOP Émilie Sornasse.
