Ascendant vierge & TDJ Release New Song & Video “Illusion”

Today, Montreal-based multi-faceted artist and trance connoisseur TDJ joins rising, Belgium-based avant-garde dance music duo ascendant vierge for a collaborative single titled “Illusion.” The release comes alongside a music video (directed by C’estainsi) that underlines the theme of getting caught inside of a dream, both literally and figuratively.

In the ethereal realm of dance music, TDJ emerges as a luminary, crafting a sonic universe that marries melancholy with bittersweet euphoria. Co-signed by tastemakers such as Pitchfork, Beatportal, DJ Mag, and Wonderland, Geneviève Ryan-Martel, aka TDJ, blends years of composing guitar ballads and experimenting with electronic production. She’s influenced by the rush of trance classics as well as the raw emotion of emo. She constantly pushes boundaries like her beloved SPF INFINI series, a DJ mix/music video crossover trilogy, and an audio/visual masterpiece. Currently in the midst of her massive Trance Detente Jazz world tour, TDJ will be returning for her second Boiler Room performance, this time in New York City alongside Rico Nasty, VTSS, MCR-T, and more.

ascendant vierge is the duo formed by lyrical goth-pop singer-songwriter-performer Mathilde Fernandez and DJ and producer Paul Seul, also known as the co-founder of the collective Casual Gabberz. The duo continues its momentum in shaping the music of tomorrow by blending pop essences and frenetic rhythms, as well as writing lyrics that depict apocalyptic visions, tapping into the issues of our current generations, and sharing unifying messages.
