Atavistia announce new drummer

Founder and frontman Mattias Sippola has a snarl that sounds strikingly similar to Jari Mäenpää, and the sweeping guitar arpeggios will have you charging through the snowy forest to battle your enemies. -- Alternative Control If you like Epic Melodic Death Metal, give this a go without even thinking. -- Metal Anthology

Vancouver metallers ATAVISTIA are eager to announce the May 27th release of their sophomore album The Winter Way. This album expands on 2017's One Within The Sun, which was recorded entirely by vocalist/guitarist Mattias Sippola. He is now joined by bassist D'wayne Murray, guitarist Dalton Meaden, and most recently drummer Max Sepulveda; together, the quartet is bringing the vision set forth by One Within the Sun to bear.

The band says, "We are extremely excited to announce our new permanent drummer, Max Sepulveda. He is an absolute beast behind the kit and we are very grateful to have him be a part of Atavistia." Check out this video of Sepulveda behind the kit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbjd9q8rMxc

FFO: Wintersun, Dimmu Borgir, Amon Amarth

The Winter Way will be released on May 29th, 2020.

About Atavistia

Atavistia is an epic metal band from Vancouver, Canada. They explore various forms of metal within their music resulting in a symphonic mix of nature, atmosphere, and technically precise musicianship. The diversity of Atavistia, much like a forest in the full bloom of spring is something to behold.

Influenced by the epic landscapes and nature of British Columbia, the coldness of winter and the flourishing of summer can be felt in each song. Visions of lands long forgotten in time are key elements behind the music of Atavistia.

Now making the transition from a one-man project to a full band with more and more live appearances under their belts, Atavistia is poised to take 2020 by storm. Crank up the volume and feel the sun melting the ice and snow!
