Audiovisual Producer juuku Releases 5-track EP ‘for us’ via NIGHTMODE

LA-based artist juuku is returning to NIGHTMODE to release his new 5-track EP 'for us,’ a genre-defying affair that balances his immersive storytelling with emotion-fueled dancefloor appeal.

juuku is an audiovisual artist celebrating his Asian American heritage through bass-driven soundscapes typically released with cinematic anime-inspired visuals. His catalog is filled with vibrant, dynamic electronic tracks spanning house, trap, bassline, electronica, dream pop, garage, techno and beyond. The 'for us' EP functions as a multifaceted odyssey, guiding listeners through an immersive landscape of sound and sight.

The penultimate track "find you" is a melodic trap cut with cinematic influences. The track tells the story of two soulmates who are separated before finding each other again in another lifetime. It opens with piano melodies and pitched-up vocal textures before building into a melodic future bass drop. A reflective breakdown represents the track's transition from loss to rebirth before closing with a final drop and an acoustic outro of plucked strings.

The release follows lead emotional future bass singles "lmk" and "i thought i lost you.” The tracks have been brought to life via his 6-part anime series, which took more than 6 months to create, working alongside animator and concept artist Phuncal. Rounding out the project are “falling4u” and “you,” a pair of high-energy cuts that utilize uplifting rhythms to mirror the euphoric sensation of falling in love.

juuku has released music with like-minded artists including Slow Magic, yetep, Manila Killa, Rossy, Covex, Syence, Just a Gent, AVELLO, Darby, Remnant.EXE; his music earned recognition from RL Grime, Alison Wonderland, Steve Aoki, Juelz, San Holo, Diplo. He previously supported yetep at Racket NYC, following previous tours with Steve Aoki, and festival sets at Lost In Dreams, Countdown, EDC Orlando, and club appearances at Nova (SD), Bloom (SD), Hakkasan, Academy LA, and Time Nightclub.

“This song is the culmination of the sound that started juuku. I was darling in the franxx at the time which had a really emotional OP so it started as me re-imagining the production with the vocals intact.” - juuku
