Australian breakout indie-rockers Fool Nelson share 'Keepsake' video, announce headline tour

 Western Australia trio Fool Nelson today share a new video for latest single 'Keepsake', and announce a special run of intimate Australian dates for this October. The news arrives following the band's sold out London debut headline back in May, appearances at tastemaker festivals including The Great Escape, London Calling, Dot To Dot, Liverpool Sound City and a performance live on Dutch radio station 3FM.

Coinciding with the drop of shows, they share a nostalgic clip for their latest BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music-supported single, 'Keepsake'. With the band noting:

"This song is for our loved ones, but the clip is for every single person that's come to a show, said g'day, shed a tear in the mosh, or crowdsurfed and lost their shoes. The vid was shot by our mate Andrew Briggs on our last run of shows across the country. It’s pretty special to have something to look back on, something that captures that tour and almost feels like a nostalgic recap of a family holiday. We’re so grateful to be able to play shows all around the place and can't wait to get back on the road and do what we love."

Hailing from Perth, Australia, Fool Nelson's blistering riffs, heart-on-sleeve lyricism and rollicking choruses have cemented their place as one of Australia's most exciting young bands. Across the tracks on the 'Bad Dreams' (Deluxe EP) the band channel the anxieties of growing up with a restless, big-hearted energy - songs written first and foremost for the live stage, where they hit hardest.

2025 saw Fool Nelson burst into triple j's Hottest 200 at #154, along with supporting luminaries Spacey Jane, Skeggs, and Old Mervs. The trio were noted as 'Ones To Watch' and selected as the Unearthed Competition Winner for triple j's One Night Stand in their hometown of Busselton (the only ever act to win an Unearthed Competition, twice).

Widely embraced by Australian radio, the EP's lead single 'Don't Feel Right' was the most played song on triple j for four weeks running in 2025, with its follow up 'Bad Dreams' also hitting top 5 most played songs on the station for another three weeks.

Consisting of brothers Tom Broadbent (guitar, vocals) and Ned Broadbent (drums), with the trio completed by best friend Darcy Steven (bass), Fool Nelson have played music together since they were kids. Their sound is urgent, melodic, and unapologetically direct, reflecting both their upbringing in Perth’s surf and skate culture and the 90s/2000s rock they grew up on.

The 'Bad Dreams' EP finds the band at their most assured - moody and angsty yet hopeful and sun-soaked - weaving nostalgia, grit, and modern indie sensibilities into a grungey, emotive sound defined by big choruses and heavy-hitting instrumentation.

Speaking on the EP, the band said:

"The EP is about sticking close to the people you love. Often we've found ourselves pushing away those relationships when things are difficult or uncertain, but we're learning to put those things first amidst anxiety, ambition, and uncertainty. For us, the EP definitely serves as a bit of an outlet for our anxieties, but hopefully also serves as a reminder of what's important."
