Bartleby Delicate to release Deadly Sadly Whatever

Luxembourg-based singer-songwriter Bartleby Delicate will release his debut EP Deadly Sadly Whatever on May 14th via Listenrecords. The EP was produced in an exclusively digital exchange with producer friend Napoleon Gold from Brussels, for mixing the songs traveled to producer John Foyle (Ibeyi, Sampha, FKA Twigs) in London. The EP was mastered by Thomas Harsem (Intergalactic Lovers, Faces on TV) in Sweden. The new single Plastic Flowers is out now.

Bartleby Delicate navigates the currents of contemporary folk and loop-based electronics with impressive ease - and a sound playing in a field of its own. He merges the polyphonic expanse of his voice with subtle arpeggios, melancholy piano chords and field recordings. His forward-thinking compositions are driven forward by the irresistible drive of the acoustic guitar - and the underlying pulse of a human heart. Bartleby Delicate's music is meant to give strength and peace, to be support in challenging times, to help to endure and reflect difficult circumstances.

"How can I express myself artistically as a white cis male without taking away space from other, disadvantaged groups? What entitles me to speak and be heard, and how do I deal with my own privilege in a reflective way?" Says Bartleby Delicate who's real name is Georges Goerens,

"We are going through a very specific time in human history where the world is facing many crises and challenges. With this EP, I wanted to share some thoughts on this from a very personal perspective in a form of peaceful music. I felt that quiet and gentle sounds were more needed than the disconcerting ones." Bartleby Delicate dedicates his lyrics to his generation - the millennial generation.

Plastic Flowers is the new single of the EP. Bartleby Delicate uses the image of the theater stage as a metaphor for partnership and social roles, the need to question them and transfers it to the tragic, even toxic love story between mankind and the earth. "The plastic flower is meant to be a metaphor of transformation: How can I make something beautiful out of plastic after all, something meaningful out of something senseless?"
