Beans On Toast - Listen to New Track "Why?" || From 'Wild Goose Chasers' Album - 1 Dec

“Why?” is the brand new single from Beans on Toast.

A song all about those existential questions with potentially non-existent answers, Beans says of the track:

“Why? Is a song about life's big questions, the ones that don't have answers. Sometimes, it's good to just ponder the mystery of it all. It's fun. I kinda see it as an old skool hymn with a twist!”

Pairing universally mind-bending conundrums to those tongue twisting lyrical quips that Beans does best, its exultant accompanying keys come courtesy of Matt Millership.

The track follows recent single “Myths & Legends”, with both songs due to feature on Beans on Toast’s approaching new album release ‘Wild Goose Chasers’ (out 1st December, pre-save the album here).

While its idiosyncratic title may be typical of the wry turn-of-phrase we have come to expect from the Essex songwriter, listeners should expect a very different animal for his latest release. A collection of newfangled pagan hymns to coincide with the end of truth, these sparsely-arranged, supernaturally-shaded songs promise to be unlike anything the artist has conjured previously. As Beans says:

“These songs are about trading modern society for a wilder, more feral existence. Songs that dig deep into the meaning of life and our purpose on Earth. They provide an exit strategy from a boring dystopia by gambling the flood for a fairy tale. This might sound pompous, but such is life, and such is the wild goose chase.”

An album of shadows and deception, melody and magic, ‘Wild Goose Chasers’ stands as Beans on Toast’s most unadorned, unconventional, and daring release yet. Streaming on all services on 1st December 2024, the album will also be available as a limited edition picture disk vinyl with artwork by photographer Nick Page.

Recorded under a full ”flower moon” at the Albion Rooms in Margate, these 12 heartfelt, mystical journeys are all accompanied by Matt Millership on an ancient piano.

With an extensive UK tour already planned for 2024 and 2025 (dubbed ‘The Wild Goose Chase’ Tour - tickets on sale now), Beans will also be showcasing his latest album with a very special album launch show in Olby’s in Margate, where the album was recorded, on 1 December. With Beans on vocal duties accompanied by Matt Millership on the venue’s prestigious grand piano, the launch show will also see special guests Dillon Warmek and Sorrel Nation in support
