Betontod will release their 1000th concert on Blu-ray/2-CD!
„The mainstream will never like us because we’re different! We’re different than all the other acts that are played every day. We aren’t smooth, we have rough edges... and it’s good the way it is!” Writer and composer Frank Vohwinkel’s statement explains the ethos of BETONTOD. Shying away from mainstream coverage on the radio and in press, the band exude a DIY attitude and it’s what drives them as a band.
Playing their 1000th concert on December 17, 2016 in the "Mitsubishi Electric Hall" in Düsseldorf, the band explains why this milestone is important: “We wanted to show everyone that it’s possible to have success without all this music business stuff. We want every young band that sees us to think: ‘If they can achieve this, we can do this too!’ It’s our message to the mainstream – and our drive!”
More than 3500 people joined their 1000th concert, making it the biggest concert in the band’s history - but this isn’t the end of the story yet! BETONTOD documented this special show on Blu-ray/2-CD and will release it on November 17th. The bonus disc includes all four videos from their current album »Revolution«.

The former dream of five schoolkids from Rheinberg, Germany has turned into a longstanding business enterprise. After hitting top 10 in the German album charts, the quintett continued working hard, forever expanding their reach and live shows. With the new release »Revolution« the band started created another chapter in their history; blending the perfect mix of punk rock and metal.
What sounds like an overnight success story is actually the result of a lot of hard work and above all, the belief in the possibility of getting to an audience, better: your own audience through self-reliant music and critical song lyrics. “At first, we still had a lot to learn”, Vohwinkel admits. When five friends want to form a band, without knowing how to play any instruments, there is only one style of music that works: Punk rock.
It has taken nearly twenty years to turn the band from a hobby into a professional living, which BETONTOD have pulled off. Playing over 1000 concerts, releasing 7 studio albums and 3 live albums, shows that they know what they are doing. Performing twice at the biggest metal festival of the world, Wacken, shows that the band has confidence to take the next step and follow up a top-ten-placed album. “We went back to our roots”, explains Vohwinkel. Their latest release »Traum von Freiheit« was released in February 2015 - working with well-known producer Vincent Sorg (TOTEN HOSEN, IN EXTREMO, DONUTS and more), they infused familiar punk rock elements of their older albums with their newer metal sounds. Same producer for »Revolution«! Their release»Revolution« reached #3 in the official german charts.
