BLOSSOMS Release New Album GARY, Share New Video "I Like Your Look"

Blossoms have released a brand new single and video for 'I Like Your Look' taken from their new album "Gary", which is out today.

Directed by James Slater and shot in the band’s hometown of Stockport, the video sees the group and other characters walking down an imaginary catwalk in a suburban cul-de-sac in an array of stylish looks. The track was co-written with Irish singer songwriter CMAT and was first aired last night on BBC Radio 1 as the station’s Hottest Record.

I Like Your Look is the fourth single to be taken from the band’s highly anticipated fifth studio album "Gary", which is out now. The record also features the previous singles Perfect Me, What Can I Say After I’m Sorry? and title track Gary.

Blossoms’ new album is produced by the band’s regular collaborator James Skelly of The Coral, alongside Jungle’s Josh-Lloyd Watson, who produced What Can I Say After I’m Sorry? and Nightclub. CMAT has also co-written two tracks on the album, I Like Your Look and Why Do I Give You The Worst Of Me?

Speaking about the making of "Gary", Blossoms’ Tom Ogden said: “Gary is now out for you all to hear. We made an album that probably feels the most ‘us’ album we’ve ever made. There’s always points in making a record where you feel like you don’t know what it’s going to be or you feel like you’re never going to write a song again, but then something like Gary appears and the juices start flowing again. We played a lot of this album live in a room together just us five, which was a lot of fun, rolling back the years to when we first started the band in that cold scaffolding yard in Stockport. Huge shout outs to James Skelly, CMAT and Josh from Jungle for providing huge moments on the record and being a source of real inspiration, when at times I wasn’t sure where it was going to go. This is our party album, go play Gary, long live Gary! x.”

Earlier this week, Blossoms announced details of a five night Manchester live residency between 19-23 November. The residency, which starts at Manchester Academy on 19 November, will also include gigs at O2 Ritz, Albert Hall, O2 Victoria Warehouse and O2 Apollo. Tickets are on sale now and the band will play songs from their new album Gary, as well as a selection of greatest hits and fan favourites.

Blossoms recently played their biggest headline gig to date, a sold-out show to 30,000 people at Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park. The band’s previously announced UK tour dates for October and November are nearly sold out, with only a few tickets left at a handful of shows (see full details on Blossoms’ website).

Since forming in 2013, Blossoms have enjoyed widespread success and acclaim. Their 2016 debut Blossoms topped the album charts for two consecutive weeks and went on to earn the band BRIT Award and Mercury Prize nominations, while 2018’s Cool Like You charted at Number 4 in the UK album chart, spawning the anthemic singles I Can’t Stand It, There’s A Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls) and How Long Will This Last? Their third studio album, 2020’s Foolish Loving Spaces was the band’s second UK Number 1 album, while their fourth studio LP Ribbon Around The Bomb gave the band their third UK Number 1 album, with the record’s standout tracks Ode To NYC, The Sulking Poet and Care For well established as fan favourites. Blossoms have had five Top 5 albums in the UK, including their In Isolation/Live From The Plaza Theatre, Stockport release.
