Bradley Simpson releases "The Panic Years"

Bradley Simpson has cemented a reputation at the forefront of the UK’s next wave of essential international-facing artists. Bringing together open-hearted vulnerability, a sophisticated indie rock edge and a magnetic star quality, Bradley now unveils his debut solo album ‘The Panic Years’. He launches the album by sharing his new Amazon Curved session performance of the new song ‘Getting Clear’.

‘The Panic Years’ introduces a new side to Bradley after his immense success with The Vamps. The music adventures far beyond his pop roots without losing any of his instant accessibility, with his confessional singer-songwriting and forays into psychedelic and ‘70s/’80s influenced sounds.

After writing the majority of the album in his modest home studio, Bradley went on to work with collaborators including BOOTS(Beyoncé), Ina Wroldsen (Rag ‘n Bone Man), Andrew Wells (RAYE) and Anthony Rossomano (The Libertines).

Bradley says, “I saw this as an opportunity to really dive into what my identity would be – the biggest thing being that I can talk about experiences that are very personal. The last ten years have been such a whirlwind, and I don’t know if I’ve had the opportunity to dive into the past. It’s quite hard to unpack everything that went on until we were out of it.”

The ‘Getting Clear’ Amazon Curved session highlights Bradley’s genre-breaking approach. Alchemising heavyweight funk with a fiery hard rock swagger, his vocal excels with a range split between poised power and an alluring falsetto. His performance is mesmerising, bringing a new angle to an artist who is an experienced arena headliner.

There’s much more new music to discover on ‘The Panic Years’ beyond previous singles such as ‘Picasso’, ‘Cry At The Moon’, ‘Always Like This’ and ‘Carpet Burn’. It explores melancholic indie-pop on ‘Not Us Anymore’ and glacial balladeering on ‘Almost’ plus there’s also the revelation that his past will still be a part of his future with ‘The Band’s Not Breaking Up’.
