Brazilian singer releases second album this Friday

Between dense and dancing atmosphere “Resumo da Ópera” brings the contrast of light and dark of Dani Carmesim's alternative rock

The album marks 10 years of the Brazilian artist's career, pointing out new paths with references from Post Punk and Synthwave

Singer and songwriter Dani Carmesim marks her 10-year career with an album release this Friday, October 15th. “Resumo da Ópera” arrives not only as a synthesis of this decade of alternative rock, but mainly with experiments and new paths. Alternating between a dense and dancing atmosphere, the contrast between light and dark is clear in the heavy lyrics accompanied by arrangements filled with Rock references in their timbres, riffs and solos, however, it brings a contagious and pulsating touch of Post Punk and Synthwave , among other elements of the underground world that make the album more fluid and tasty.

The work was built to give voice to relevant themes and, as in the plot of an Opera, the album opens in a dense way talking about the uncertainties of the times we are living in and that bring to light feelings such as fear, anguish, insecurity and anxiety , going through a second act of atmospheric transition, mixing themes such as prejudice, self-knowledge, self-assertion and culminating in a final dramatic act, where the current political crisis, existentialism and the direction humanity is taking is questioned.

After almost six years of the release of his first album, ‘Das Tripas Coração’, in 2015, Dani arrives with "Resumo da Ópera" making use of the meaning of shortening a narrative or recapitulating briefly what was exposed. The album is a synthesis of 10 years of her trajectory in music, but, beyond that, it marks a new sound and opens the way for a new history to be written.

“There are 12 copyrighted songs with the participation of artists and musicians that I admire and who are a reference in the music scene. All this, perfectly fitted with the musical accent that comes from my city, Recife-PE, which gives a unique touch and with my personality in the type of music I make”, explains Dani.

All the lyrics on the album are by Dani Carmesim, with the exception of track 01, ‘O Cheiro do Medo' which is co-written by Marcelo Rêgo of the band Sargaço Nightclub. In addition, the album has special guest appearances such as track 02, ‘Víbora’, featuring guitarist Neilton Carvalho from the renowned band Devotos. With Kira Aderne; singer, songwriter and guitarist for the band Diablo Angel, who shares the vocals, singing in English, on track 07, 'Over and Over' and also with singer-songwriter Fernandes who recorded the guitars on tracks 07 and 08 (Over and Over and Bolero Urbano).

This is Dani's second authorial and independent album, which includes two EP's and one cd in her career. Resumo da Ópera was recorded by Fernando S. at Home Studio Area 51, who is also responsible for the musical production of the album, in addition to musicians André Insurgente on bass, Tiago Marditu on drums and Fernando S. himself on guitars and synthesizers. The album cover photo was taken by Marina Branco, from Caldo de Cana Filmes, and the layout and editing by André Insurgente.
