Britney Spears releases "Crossroads: Special Edition"

The new “Crossroads: Special Edition” Soundtrack is out now via RCA Records. The soundtrack accompanies the re-release of the 2002 classic film. In addition to fan favorites, the soundtrack includes three new Britney Spears remixes: “Overprotected” (Richi Lopez Remix), “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman” (Snakehips Remix) and “I Love Rock ‘N Roll” (Frank Walker Remix).

The Crossroads Global Fan Event brought the cult classic film back to cinemas worldwide on October 23 and October 25. It coincides with the release of Spears’ highly anticipated memoir, THE WOMAN IN ME, now available worldwide. The 2002 film, written by Shonda Rhimes (creator of Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal and Executive Producer of Bridgerton) and directed by Tamra Davis (13: The Musical, Dead To Me, Billy Madison), features a star-studded cast including Britney Spears, Anson Mount, Zoë Saldana, Taryn Manning, with Kim Cattrall and Dan Aykroyd.

Crossroads tells the story of three childhood friends, Lucy (Spears), Kit (Zoë Saldana) and Mimi (Taryn Manning), who, after eight years apart, rediscover their friendship on a cross-country trip. With barely a plan, practically no money but plenty of dreams, the girls catch a lift with Mimi's handsome friend Ben (Anson Mount) in his convertible. Along the way they not only gather experiences that will change their lives, but they also discover how important it is to hold onto their hearts' desires.

Crossroads, which premiered in 2002, has gone on to become a fan favorite following its original U.S. release, which generated more than 61M globally.

THE WOMAN IN ME, the eagerly awaited memoir from Britney Spears, has been released on Oct. 24, 2023 through Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.
