Bryan Eckermann Unleashes ‘The Haunting at Helmbrook’ – A Serialized Horror Concept Album Begins

The solo project of Bryan Eckermann (Melodic Black/Death Metal) returns in 2026 with a massive serialized release spanning two full concept albums, "The Haunting at Helmbrook" (out today) and its follow-up "Return to Helmbrook" (out 7/22/26).

"The Haunting at Helmbrook" is a dark concept album that unfolds like a horror novel set to music. A quiet mountain town, where Helmbrook Asylum lurks on a hill — a blemish on the town’s sense of normality that no one dares to speak about. But when a series of disturbing events begins to unfold, buried secrets rise to the surface, revealing a history of fear, control, and suffering hidden behind religion and medicine. As the truth slowly emerges, the line between madness and evil disappears, and the town is forced to confront what has always been there... a horror that will change the town forever.

Thirteen songs tell this sadistic story, where no one escapes unchanged.

"The Haunting at Helmbrook" (Remixed / Remastered) is released in full today, 4/8/26. Beginning today with Chapter 1, each song will be revisited in depth through weekly lyrical/story breakdowns on FB and Instagram, accompanied by new designed artworks for each song, videoslyrics, and story breakdowns every Wednesday around 5pm CST.

Continuing the story ten years after the events that shattered the town, where the wounds never healed and the truth was never buried — only distorted. What remains is a community consumed by grief, paranoia, and the desperate need to place blame.

When Gabrielle — daughter of the infamous Doctor Monroe — becomes the center of suspicion, the town’s fragile sense of order begins to collapse. Drawn back toward the abandoned asylum, she finds herself entangled in a resurgence of horrors long thought forgotten.

But what unfolds is not a haunting... it is something far more deliberate.

Behind whispered prayers and false salvation, a hidden cult emerges, manipulating fear, sacrifice, and belief to justify their vengeance. As bodies fall and hysteria spreads, the line between victim and villain disappears entirely.

Ten songs descend into the aftermath of tragedy, where grief is weaponized, innocence is condemned, and revenge is carried out under the guise of righteousness.
