Bst Hyde Park Announces Alfie Boe as Special Guest for All Things Orchestral

American Express presents BST Hyde Park is delighted to welcome back the extraordinary classical music experience, All Things Orchestral, to Hyde Park for a fourth year as part of the Open House programme on Thursday 2 July. Today we announce that acclaimed tenor Alfie Boe will perform. Hosted once more by Myleene Klass MBE, the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra – conducted by Stephen Bell – will whisk the audience on a journey through time, celebrating Cinematic Classics and much more. Alfie Boe, OBE, is one of Britain’s most celebrated and best-loved tenors, admired for his rich, powerful voice and his remarkable ability to cross effortlessly between opera, musical theatre, and popular music.

Born in Fleetwood, Lancashire, Alfie discovered his passion for singing while training as a car mechanic, where he entertained colleagues with arias in the garage. His natural talent soon led him to study at the Royal College of Music, the National Opera Studio, and finally to the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, where he performed and trained with some of the finest voices in the world.

Alfie’s breakthrough came with his portrayal of Rodolfo in Baz Luhrmann’s Broadway production of La Bohème, a performance that earned him a Tony Award. Soon after, his defining role as Jean Valjean in Les Misérables at the 25th Anniversary Concert at London’s O2 Arena in 2010 brought him international acclaim and cemented his reputation as one of the greatest interpreters of the role. He went on to reprise Valjean on Broadway and in the West End to further acclaim. Most recently Alfie starred in the concert tour of Les Misérables in Australia and will shortly be seen starring again when the production visits China later this year.

Since then, Alfie has enjoyed an extraordinary career spanning stage, recording, and television. He has released over a dozen studio albums, several of which have topped the UK charts. His collaborations with Michael Ball — including the record-breaking albums Together, Together Again, and Back Together — have become some of the fastest-selling releases of the decade. Their tours have sold out arenas across the UK, delighting hundreds of thousands of fans.

As a solo artist, Alfie has appeared at some of the most prestigious venues and events worldwide: from Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee to the Royal Albert Hall. He has also performed across the globe including The US, Europe, Japan, and Australia as well as making numerous television appearances in concerts, documentaries, and specials, broadening his reach far beyond the stage. Alfie was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in recognition of his outstanding services to music and charity.

Today, Alfie continues to captivate audiences with his unmistakable voice, charisma, and passion for performance. From his early days in Lancashire to the world’s grandest stages, Alfie has become one of the most versatile and admired artists of his generation.

The hugely successful previous editions have featured some of the biggest names in classical music - from acclaimed US composer Laura Karpman to MILǑS, Alfie Boe and Esther Abrami, with last year hosting the world premiere of The Fantastic Four: First Steps Suite, composed by none other than Oscar-winner Michael Giacchino.

True to the accessible ethos of BST Hyde Park’s Open House, All Things Orchestral will offer affordable tickets. With many orchestras and arts organisations struggling, and attendance of classical performances in decline, All Things Orchestral is here to remind people of the power of classical music, and introduce it to new audiences. Stephen Bell is a British conductor who trained under Norman Del Mar at the Royal College of Music and has built a varied international career. He holds leadership roles with the City of Oxford Orchestra, Hallé Pops, and RTÉ Concert Orchestra, and works regularly with major UK ensembles including the Royal Philharmonic, BBC orchestras, and Bournemouth Symphony. His work spans classical recordings, BBC Proms appearances, television broadcasts, and collaborations with pop and folk artists.

Returning to compère, TV and radio presenter, classically trained musician, bestselling author and passionate campaigner, Myleene Klass MBE has hosted major shows like The Classic BRITs, Popstar to OperaStar, The One Show and Musical Masterpieces, presented on Classic FM and Smooth Radio since 2006 and 2014 respectively, and released multiple No.1 classical albums alongside Sunday Times bestselling parenting books.

Using BST Hyde Park’s famous Great Oak Stage, which has hosted the world’s biggest music legends since 2013, fans will be taken on a summer evening’s journey through classical music, both traditional and modern. This special event promises to be a spectacle for thousands of fans, offering not only the allure of exceptional music but also the beauty of the surroundings.

This historic park has been graced by legendary artists such as The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Carole King, Bruce Springsteen, Barbara Streisand, Billy Joel, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and many more, adding an extra layer of magic to the experience.

Across the two weeks (Monday 29 June - Thursday 2 July and Monday 6 July - Thursday 9 July), Open House once again transforms Hyde Park into an open-air celebration of culture, activity and entertainment, bringing together fitness, family-friendly experiences, live music, cinema and big-screen sporting moments in one place. There’s everything from live music with Daft Funk Live, Trojan Sound System, Norman Jay MBE & The Good Times Band, to the London African Gospel Choir and the Official Pride in London Pre-Party featuring Sink the Pink, Tete Bang, LCV Choir & Trans Voices and many more, to a huge offering of free wellness and sports to try out, whether it’s yoga, cricket or basketball! Plus, plenty of dedicated activities for children and families, including storytelling and theatre with Chickenshed: Tales of the Shed.

On Tuesday 30 June, we welcome Mo Farah CBE for Run With Mo!, a 3km run through the idyllic surroundings of Hyde Park. Open to runners of all abilities, this unique event offers the chance to run alongside one of Britain's greatest athletes. Returning for a second year, PDC Presents The Hyde Park Darts Championship will take place on Wednesday 8 July, featuring top darts players Luke Humphries, Fallon Sherrock, Nathan Aspinall and Stephen Bunting, each paired with a celebrity teammate; broadcaster AJ Odudu and sports presenter Emma Paton alongside YouTuber Behzinga and presenter Joe Swash - defending his 2025 title.

London’s celebrated festival, American Express presents BST Hyde Park, returns this summer with another fantastic series of world-class headliners featuring Garth Brooks (Saturday 27 June), ATEEZ (Sunday 28 June), Maroon 5 (Friday 3 July), Mumford & Sons (Saturday 4 July), Duran Duran (Sunday 5 July) Pitbull (Friday 10 July) and Lewis Capaldi (Saturday 11 July and Sunday 12 July).
