BYFYN Recruits MenCare (PVA/Tiña) for vibrant new single & video 'Everything's Not Lost'

Hertfordshire-based artist & producer BYFYN marks her return today with the new, unashamedly-pop single ‘Everything’s Not Lost’.

BYFYN - aka Ellie Isherwood is an artist praised for her enticingly leftfield combination of electronics and pop. Her empowering, theatrical persona and groundbreaking synth-pop songwriting has amassed support from BBC 6Music’s Tom Robinson; who described BYFYN’s one-woman live show as “the most fun you can have with your clothes on”, Noisey, Loud & Quiet, DIY & Clash to name but a few.

Isherwood began her artistic development as part of the Rising Sun Collective, a Goldsmith’s adjacent cabal of musicians, artists, filmmakers and designers. Living together in a disused pub, it was here she honed her dark and dreamy sound amongst collaborative house parties/gigs, video shoots and recording sessions.

Recruiting MenCare (Josh Baxter of PVA and Adam Cartwright of Tiña) on assistant production duties, new single ‘Everything’s Not Lost’ is an unashamedly bright pop song written to blast away the doom and gloom of the past two years. “I wrote ‘Everything’s Not Lost’ to make myself feel better and as a kind of thank you to all my nearest and dearest for always being there for me!”, explains BYFYN.

"It was written back in January after being stuck in a higher tier than the rest of my family and therefore unable to go home for Christmas for the first time in my life. I was feeling pretty low and disconnected from everything and everyone. I think the same realisation was had by a lot of people; in the absence of friends and family, you realise how important they are to you and how much you rely on them to get through difficult times.”

That appreciation for those closest to BYFYN flows seamlessly into the track’s visuals, in which she heads on an empowering and uplifting road trip with some of her closest friends. "I wanted to create a mini road movie with a group of badass females,” she adds. “it echoes the song's message about the power of friendship!”
