Caspar Auwerkerken shares 'I Tried'

Caspar Auwerkerken shares new single 'I Tried'. Caspar about the single: "I tried wants to embrace the feeling of the afterglow in general. It embraces nostalgia and celebrates the fragility of memory. I wrote it after a relationship ended, but while writing it, I became aware that it addressed my whole being: I have a strong tendency to feverishly hold on to the past, to cherish what’s already gone. The song is a longing for the past, while allowing you to dream."

It's another foretaste of EP 'Abloom', out August 25th. Previous singles are Hyacinth, In Skies, The Hunter and Untitled.

About 'Abloom': "Abloom is a collection of songs, which represent me as the artist I am now. All of them share the same blossoming atmosphere and were written with the same urgency. The songs feel like a manifestation of my spiritual self, and they help me to express who I truly am. To me it almost feels as if I couldn’t help but write them, as if they helped me become myself. It is with pride and gratitude that I will share this first batch of songs: I hope they can guide you, just as they guided me."

Caspar is artist in residence at both Het Depot and Muziekgieterij Maastricht (where he received the very first Jan Mans Award for young talent last year) and has already played support acts for Portland, Meskerem Mees, Mauro Pawlowski, The Bony King of Nowhere, Strand of Oaks and Duke Garwood.
