Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean release Let Us Not Speak Of Them But Look And Pass On on Redscroll Records
For nine years, Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean have been crafting an ominous and hellbent mix of sludge and doom metal. The Massachusetts based band last released Sisyphean Cruelty in 2024 and now follow it up with Let Us Not Speak Of Them But Look And Pass On out today through Redscroll Records. Stream and purchase HERE.
Recorded and mixed by Seth Manchester at Machines with Magnets, the album’s four tracks take the listener on a 28 minute journey through anguished vocals, bludgeoning riffs, and heavy percussion. Improvised passages set the the tone, pushing the scale between haunting and uneasy. Written as an A and B side, the two tracks on each half of the record seam together through monstrous arrangements. The scale of the tracks feel overwhelming on first listen, taking time to sink in until you feel every punishing note hit your senses.
Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean has two shows coming up in March, including supporting Deadguy and Dropdead at District Music Hall in Norwalk, CT on March 13th. In April the band will head to Europe for a number of shows and festival dates, appearing at Roadburn Festival on April 19th. Full list of dates below.
