Chantal Acda signed to Glitterhouse

We are happy and proud to announce that Glitterhouse Records has added Chantal Acda to it's prestigious roster. The label, home to such artists as Scott Matthews, 16 Horsepower, Wovenhand and Tamikrest, to name but a few, has a long-standing history as an independent European label where a true passion for music prevails.

Working under the Sleepingdog moniker since 2006, Chantal has made three records that closed on the With Our Heads in the Clouds and Our Hearts in the Fields (2010) album for which she collaborated with Adam Wiltzie (Stars of the Lid, A Winged Victory For The Sullen), and touring extensively both in Europe and North America. Besides Sleepingdog Chantal plays or has played in various other formations like Isbells, Distance, Light & Sky (with Walkabouts' Chris Eckman), True Bypass (with Craig Ward) and Marble Sounds.

In 2013 she released her first real solo album Let Your Hands Be My Guide generating rave reviews in major UK and European music press.

For the recordings of her new and second album The Sparkle In Our Flaws she (again) turned to her musical soul mates Peter Broderick (known from his solo work on labels such as Bella Union and Erased Tapes and from his work with a.o. Efterklang) and Shahzad Ismaily (regular collaborator of a.o. Lou Reed, Tom Waits and Bonnie Prince Billy). Besides Peter and Shahzad, you will also hear contributions from Valgeir Sigurdsson, Heather Woods Broderick, Niels Van Heertum and Eric Thielemans.

The artwork for the album is based on the painting 'Alice' by illustrator Ingrid Godon.

The Sparkle In Our Flaws will be the first album on Glitterhouse and will be released on September 18th.
