Che Arthur release Sever

Describe This Present Moment is Che Arthur‘s fifth album under his own name. In ten songs the Chicago-based multi-instrumentalist/songwriter/engineer/producer pits the taut, concise punk/indie structures and contemplative acoustic-based textures of his previous albums against heavier moments that call back to Pink Avalanche, the currently “on hiatus” band Arthur helmed from 2010-2020.

“Sever” is the first single from taken from the album and according to Arthur, the angular, driving punk track deals with “pining for real connection in a society that grows ever more disconnected and unsafe”. Musically, the track may interest fans of Sugar, Jawbreaker or The Smithereens.

Describe This Present Moment, will be released January 9, 2026 via Past/Future Records.

Che Arthur will be touring Europe in November opening for Bob Mould.
