Chimp Hardy - “Emergency on the Dancefloor / In Order to Survive” EP (Out Now)
Berlin-based DJ and producer Chimp Hardy releases his new EP “Emergency on the Dancefloor / In Order to Survive”, the latest transmission from his forthcoming debut album Animal, out 17th July 2026 via K. Willy Records / EPM Music.
Following earlier releases “Toxin” and “Release Your Animal”, the Animal project continues its unfolding narrative, a fictional shift on the dance floor where something begins to change, people start to lose themselves, and allowing a wider societal transformation to take hold.
The EP sits as the final chapter before the full album, pushing the story further into chaos, tension and release.
“Emergency on the Dancefloor”, premiered by Data Transmission, captures that moment when the night tips over completely. Built on old-school rave energy, breakbeat pressure and sound system weight, it leans into peak-time intensity and collective release on the dance floor.
As Chimp Hardy explains: “Sometimes at the peak of the night, when everything’s gone wonky, you look around and think we’ve all lost our minds, and you love it. That’s what ‘Emergency on the Dancefloor’ is about. It’s about getting a little crazy, losing yourself in the moment, and dancing out all the stress of the week.”
Meanwhile, Dubiks premieres companion track "In Order to Survive", an ambient drum & bass cut that offers moments of hope and reflection within the album’s narrative. Built around uplifting pads, driving breaks, and a sense of forward momentum, the track marks a moment of clarity and resolution as the ravers begin to imagine a different future.
Chimp Hardy says: "'In Order to Survive' is inspired by that moment when you leave a rave feeling joyful, connected and free, when you think, if everyone felt this, society could be different. A sample speaks the truth: "They knew they'd have to take matters into their own hands if they wanted to survive.” A moment of clarity and resolution. The dance floor becomes a space of collective power.”
Together, the two tracks form the final bridge into Animal, an album blending rave, techno, breaks, bass and electronica into a narrative of identity, resistance, survival and transformation, all witnessed on the dance floor.
Raised in Austin, Texas and now based in Berlin, Chimp Hardy spent over fifteen years in underground electronic music culture. The Animal Project was written after a period of illness and recovery, returning to ideas of movement, the body and shared release through music.
As a queer artist, he positions the project within underground club culture as a space for self-definition, resistance and liberation. Known for high-energy DJ sets and immersive performances, he has appeared for HÖR, Beatport and clubs across Europe, and supported artists including Erasure, Crystal Waters and Robin S.
With Animal, Chimp Hardy builds a world you don’t just hear, but step into.
