Italian darkwave / post-punk band Christine Plays Viola complete the story surrounding their 2026 album, F.I.V.E. (Fear Increases Violent Emotions), with the release of new standalone single ‘At Last, I Found You (Fear Increases Violent Emotions)’ on 22 July 2026. Launching alongside a new video premiere at Post-punk.com, the release comes just ahead of European live dates spanning August-October.

‘At Last, I Found You’ was written during the F.I.V.E. sessions but intentionally held back until listeners had time to fully absorb the album, before emerging as its final companion piece. Guitarist and bandleader Fabrizio Giampietro explains:

“At Last, I Found You was always the most immediate and instinctive song we wrote during the F.I.V.E. sessions. We deliberately left it off the album because we wanted listeners to experience that record's emotional arc, without this song becoming its centre of gravity. Six months later, it felt like the right moment to finally share it.”

Driven by soaring melodies, propulsive rhythms and Christine Plays Viola’s trademark atmosphere, ‘At Last, I Found You’ showcases the band’s knack for arresting dancefloor anthems, without sacrificing the emotional depth that has come to define their work.

The accompanying video follows a lone driver through an increasingly surreal night, where memory, hallucination and reality begin to merge. As black mist engulfs the landscape and fragments of the protagonist’s past surface, the narrative remains deliberately open to interpretation, reflecting the emotional uncertainty at the heart of the song.

Released via Bandcamp, Spotify and all major digital platforms on 22 July, ‘At Last, I Found You (Fear Increases Violent Emotions)’ marks Christine Plays Viola’s first standalone release since the F.I.V.E. album.

The band continue touring in support of the album between August and October, with confirmed dates across Poland, Spain, England and Germany, and additional shows currently being confirmed.
