Chroma Announce Goldie Lookin Chain 2024 Support Tour

Ahead of an appearance at Eurosonic Festival later this month, Pontypridd, Wales bi-lingual alt-rock trio CHROMA are delighted to announce that they will support Newport comedy hip hop troupe Goldie Lookin Chain on their forthcoming 2024 headline dates later this year.

To celebrate the news, new single ‘Girls Talk’ will be released on 11th January 2024, and is the latest track to be taken from the band’s gigantic Alcopop! Records 2023 debut album Ask For Angela.

Recorded at Giant Wafer Studios, Llanbadarn Fynydd in the heart of Wales, CHROMA’s much lauded debut was produced and mixed by Steffan Pringle (Adwaith, Future of the Left, Boy Azooga) and mastered by Tom Langrish at E1 Mastering (IDLES, Fontaines D.C, DITZ) in London.

Commenting on the track, vocalist Katie Hall said: "Girls Talk is one of the first songs that we wrote together that has actually stuck throughout the years. When I wrote the song I was experiencing a lot of misogyny, and I always found myself in the same situation saying the same thing, which was ‘don’t talk over me, and don’t tell the boys you're going to f*ck me after the show.' Girls Talk looks at the power we have when we talk to each other and stand up against misogyny together. It changed the way I wrote songs and inspired our album, Ask For Angela."

The band will also be presenting an episode of S4C’s returning TV series Curadur this week, with Hall inviting some of her favourite bands and artists to join her Clwb Cysgu Cwl (Sleepover Club). Featuring performances from The Joy Formidable, Panic Shack and of course Chroma, the episode will be broadcast on S4C on Friday 12 January at 10pm, and available on catch-up via BBC iPlayer and S4C Clic.

Riding high on a run of packed shows at SXSW Festival, FOCUS Wales, and a support slot with The Mysterines, the band announced their signing to Alcopop! Records in early 2023 and were recently hand-picked to support legendary US rockers Foo Fighters at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Manchester on 15th June 2024 alongside Coutney Barnett. They will also play further shows alongside Loose Articles, Bob Vylan, and more.

The trio have also just been announced as one of the latest patrons of the Music Venue Trust, and will support the work of the charity in sharing the importance of Grassroots Music Venues and their crucial role in the music industry's ecosystem.
