Content Blocks releases Hard Out
Emerging from New York’s subterranean trenches, Content Blocks reflect the infrastructure of their environs through dark, prophetic future-punk songcraft. They present their true first full-length effort in Hard Out, a collection of cybernetic experimental punk through the bleak lens of our technology-drenched existence. The attitude conveys the frustration of contemporary living, sonically reflective of the cold materiality and unsympathetic architecture prevalent in today’s New York.
Composed of Matthew Hord and Ian Campbell, the duo channels decades spent playing in a smattering of varied and diverse post-punk projects. Their melded influences result in a genre-fluid output with nods across gothic UK industrial, Belgian EBM, syrupy synth-pop, and modern avant electronic. Textural six-string ambience meets the rigidity of machinery. Applicable within the walls of the gallery, club, or afters, the cloud drifting behind this dark and propulsive angst feels conclusively fitting against the bleakness of 2026.
Hard Out will be released October 2, 2026 via STTT Records.
