Cosmopaark ft. Tapeworms (shoegaze, glitchy pop) share new single 'Shooting Star'

French indie/shoegaze band Cosmopaark unveils 'Shooting Star', featuring French trio Tapeworms. The track is a modern, dreamlike crossover between shoegaze, dream pop and indie electronic music, blending walls of guitars, ethereal vocals, synthesizers, and glitchy electronic textures, reminiscent of Feeble Little Horse, Sweet Trip or Sword II. "Shooting Star" reflects on illusion, disillusionment, and recurring patterns, while maintaining an optimistic and forward-looking spirit.

"Shooting Star was originally intended for a future Cosmopaark album, but as things evolved, we decided to release it on its own, quite spontaneously. We first met Tapeworms in 2018 and have been following their journey closely ever since. Over the years, our paths have crossed repeatedly through mutual collaborations (Petit Fantôme and Clément Fortin on mixing and production, and via the label Howlin' Banana Records). This track gave us the chance to experiment with new textures and more electronic elements, while paving the way for future material that ventures beyond the boundaries of '90s shoegaze. A collaboration with Tapeworms felt like the obvious choice, it was amazing to come together on this track!" - Cosmopaark

"We started working on this track while we were in Tokyo. Our last album, 'Grand Voyage', had just been released, and we felt it would be a great opportunity to build on everything we had learned from that record in a new context. Cosmopaark brings a pure, raw band energy, something we deliberately stepped away from on our previous release. In a way, it felt like reconnecting with our roots. We share some obvious influences with Cosmopaark, particularly ‘90s shoegaze and dream pop, but over the years we’ve each expanded our musical universe in different directions. Their sound has been shaped more by the modern indie and emo scenes, while we’ve focused increasingly on electronic and pop music, as well as production. This song feels like a meeting point between our shared background and our respective approaches to songwriting and production. We’re very happy to finally see 'Shooting Star' come to life, especially through Howlin’ Banana, the label that released our first album. Thank you friends!" - Tapeworms
