Cronian’s debut masterpiece ‘Terra’ to receive first-ever vinyl release for 20th anniversary Nov. 13th; Pre-Order Now

M-Theory Audio announces our next reissue – this one the long-awaited 20th Anniversary reissue of ‘Terra,’ the landmark 2006 debut album from avant-garde cinematic/progressive/black metal project CRONIAN. Originally formed by Øystein G. Brun (Borknagar, Molested) and Andreas Hedlund (Borknagar, Vintersorg), the duo created a cold sonic landscape that bridged aggressive metal with electronic textures. Available on vinyl for the very first time on November 13, 2026, this landmark release is pressed on exclusive, limited-edition "Iceolated Existence" colored vinyl (restricted to 300 copies worldwide).

Born from a collaborative desire to explore musical territories beyond their work in BORKNAGAR, ‘Terra’ pushed boundaries by utilizing digital home studios to combine extreme Scandinavian atmospheric riffs with score-like instrumentation. Mastered specifically for audio precision by legendary engineer Dan Swanö (Evergrey, Katatonia, Edge of Sanity), the reissue includes an expanded 4-panel insert featuring brand-new, reflective liner notes penned by Øystein G. Brun.

CRONIAN was created as an outlet for BORKNAGAR guitarist Øystein G. Brun and singer Andreas Hedlund to explore cold, cinematic, and orchestrated symphonic metal beyond BORKNAGAR and the duo recorded three albums under the moniker.

2006’s ‘Terra’ which blended heavy Scandinavian atmospheric riffs with digital synth arrangements and score-like soundscapes

2008’s ‘Enterprise’ which expanded on the synth-heavy, atmospheric metal foundation of their debut, offering a more dynamic and polished sound.

2013’s ‘Erathems’ that featured heavier, darker arrangements and more prominent guitar work alongside complex vocal harmonies between Hedlund and guest contributions.

In the meantime, the duo continued to operate with their bandmates in BORKNAGAR releasing six albums and performing between 2001-2016, as well Hedlund has maintained and continues to release albums as VINTERSORG.
