Danish jazz/rock band Nausia releases new single ‘Wabi-sabi’ from forthcoming, second album ‘Finding a Circle’

After years of steady outputs and extensive touring, Nausia is now ready to put their new full length ‘Finding A Circle’ into steady waters on April 14th. The quintet follows up on the frist single ‘Dancing with a Stupid World’ today, as they release the second offering, the beautifully pummeling ‘Wabi-sabi’- The band states on the composition:

“For us, 'Wabi-sabi' marks a movement towards a calmer and more lingering sound compared to our previous releases. This sense of calm and contemplation is a recurring theme throughout the album. The song is inspired by our shared deep love for cute guitar rock.

During a trip to Japan, Oskar came across the term 'wabi-sabi'. Wabi-sabi refers to an awareness of nature’s simplicity and the impermanence of the world. A perspective that finds beauty in impermanence and imperfection, which we have drawn inspiration from in our songwriting for this track.”

With ‘Finding A Circle’ spanning from high-intensity fretting, with a repetitive horn-section backed up by sharp and tight percussion, we cross the palette and are catapulted with reminiscents of transcendental, free-jazz and the avant-garde. Spanning 45 minutes, Nausia explores the wide variety of jazz in 2025, including riffy rock guitars, double saxophone colossus vibes and a new inclusive progressive jazz vibe.

The band describes ‘Finding a Circle’ as the culmination of five years of hard work on tours and releases. Created in close collaboration with producer Jacob Günther, the album reflects a strong musical camaraderie and a desire to find solace amidst the storm of turbulent youth, climate collapse, and dystopian futures. Expect a work that is spiritual, intense, jazzy, doomy, and cohesive – cementing Nausia as a profoundly original band in constant development and one of Denmark’s most compelling jazz-rock acts.

‘Finding A Circle’ is released by Copenhagen record label Vasen on March 14th 2025, backed by release shows at Alice, Copenhagen on March 15th and Headquarters, Aarhus the 5th of April.
