Danish post punk ensemble Tender Youth releases new single and video ‘Marina Drive’ from forthcoming album and plays shows

Sometimes falling in love feels less like a gentle blossoming and more like reckless speeding. One long acceleration where desire and love collide in a hedonistic crash. That feeling drives Marina Drive, the new single from Tender Youth, out today April 17th alongside a video filmed by Jonas Stenfatt and edited by Tobias Bryld.

Where the band’s previous releases were rooted in post-punk guitar, Marina Drive points in a new direction. Here, the rock guitar is replaced by a distorted violin, pushed to the very front of the mix, like a siren in the night. The result is an explosive hybrid of punk energy and the pulsing momentum of techno. An industrial, raw sound opens the track with its metallic percussion, before a heavily distorted violin and a throbbing bassline drive it forward at breakneck speed.

With Marina Drive, Tender Youth lets modern production into their hand-played post-punk - a meeting between rehearsal room and club. Driven by a desire to create something that feels electronic, yet is performed live - rather the band’s own energy and dynamics than drum machines and synths.

Matching the intensity of its sonic universe, Marina Drive portrays a flickering, hedonistic world of love. Fast cars, cocktail glasses, and flashing neon colors form the backdrop for a romance that feels both intoxicating and destructive.

“There’s no limit to love, just fast cars / Crash into Marina Drive,” goes the chorus - like a romantic mantra that promises both ecstasy and collision.

With its blend of violin, punk, and techno, Marina Drive also points toward the next chapter for Tender Youth. In autumn 2026, the band will release their second album, where the violin will take center stage as the driving instrument in the band’s ever-evolving sound.

Before that, the band will play a series of concerts, starting with Next Fest in Poznań, followed by a show at Byhaven, Copenhagen on April 30, and then at SPOT Festival, Aarhus on May 2, with more shows to be announced.
