Danish/Turkish/Kurdish band AySay signs to V2 and releases new single 'Yârimsin'

AySay is a Copenhagen-based band which combines Anatolian folk and Nordic electronica through the Danish/Kurdish/Turkish heritage of lead singer, Luna Ersahin. They create a musical space where boundaries are broken down to leave you only with a raw human experience - in the spectrum between hope and hopelessness.

The band has signed a new deal with V2 Records and today, they release their new single 'Yârimsin', a hypnotic, Anatolian rock journey about returning home to an old love after a long absence. Sung in Turkish, the track fuses driving guitars, folk-inspired melodies, and trance-like grooves, blending tradition with a modern edge.

Drawing inspiration from old and new legends like Barış Manço, Selda Bağcan, Gaye Su Akyol and Derya Yıldırım, AySay crafts a sound that is both nostalgic and forward-looking. The song’s themes of homecoming, love, faithfulness, and hope resonate through its positive energy, as repeated refrains such as “Nina nay nay”create an almost meditative, cruising-ready vibe.

Lead singer Luna Ersahin describes it as “my love song to Istanbul,” capturing the city’s enduring presence and the timeless pull of returning home. It’s about that feeling of longing and then finally coming home after a long time, with all the doubts and fears that can come with that. In a sense that even though your own love for a place or person is still there after all those years, will they still open the door with those same feelings for you? Has the want for reuniting remained on both sides? Hopeful to find that the love is still intact to be able to say: “Hala benim yârimsin” (“You are still my beloved”).

Those longing feelings are carried out through the lyrics, but still the song has an uplifting, cruising-in-your-car vibe through the catchy refrains and groove.

With “Yârimsin”, AySay continue their exploration of multilingual, cross-cultural music, bridging Turkey, Kurdistan, and Scandinavia while carrying listeners on a psychedelic, Anatolian rock/folk-infused ride.
