Denmark’s Roskilde, announces their SXSW showcase on Wednesday March 16 at Austin’s Cheer Up Charlies to celebrate their 50th edition

Today, one of Europe’s largest music, activism and art festivals, Denmark’s ROSKILDE, announces their SXSW showcase on Wednesday March 16 at Austin’s Cheer Up Charlies to celebrate their 50th edition this summer (June 25 - July 2).

Imagine 130.000 people, from more than 36 countries, together, for an 8 day stretch, with about 170 acts, where you can bring your own drinks and food into the campaign site (with 110.000 people camping!). The non-profit organization is simply unlike any other festival.

Throughout the years ROSKILDE Festival has always taken pride in pointing out the future and spotting the Rising stars of tomorrow. At SXSW, ROSKILDE Festival brings Danish talent on the rise School Of X, Debbie Sings and Clarissa Connelly to Austin, as well as the English band Los Bitchos and gives showcasing spots to America’s Horsegirl and J Soulja.

This summer, Dua Lipa, Tyler, The Creator and HAIM are headliners at their 50th edition and other headliners through the year have been Eminem, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Robyn, Rihanna, Cardi B, Björk, Prince, Kanye West etc etc. ROSKILDE has a reputation for booking upcoming talent early in their career, for instance, Lizzo, Rosalía, Odd Future, Robyn have performed there before they became international stars.
