Dirty Heads Team Up With Global Music Sensation Jon Z To Remix "Vacation"
Today, Dirty Heads, the reggae-influenced band redefining the sound of Southern California since 2003, dropped a bilingual Spanish/English remix for “Vacation” the global smash song behind the #VacationTransition TikTok challenge, with Latin music sensation Jon Z titled “Vacation Y Vacaciones” via Better Noise Music. Extending the celebrations of the song’s global success, Puerto Rican trap artist Jon Z wanted to add his own spin to the song, adding a fresh take that further includes the worldwide Spanish-speaking audience who have enthusiastically participated in the social media phenomenon over the past few months. “Vacation Y Vacaciones (featuring Jon Z)” is now available for streaming and download HERE.
Excited about the remix and reconnecting with fans on the road, lead singer Jared Watson said “We were stoked to have Jon Z jump on the track and add his own style to it. And we hope to get down to Mexico and South America to play some live music as soon as we can”. Jon Z added “I am so happy I was able to collaborate with Dirty Heads. They are genuine to their artistic style, and we share a similar vibe. I hope everyone has as fun listening to this as we did making it together”.
The band’s profile has significantly increased in international markets, with the organic viral moment of “Vacation” and its accompanying #VacationTransition challenge trend increasing streams for the original track across all platforms by 90%, with an increase of over 250% on Amazon alone, and earlier this year an increase of over 800% on Spotify. The song’s massive success has earned it introductions on over 36 viral international playlists, viral and pop playlists with massive global reach, 144% increase of Shazams, entry on the Shazam Global Top 200 Chart and TikTokDaily, Weekly & Trending videos, and all-time top track charts. It entered Instagram’s top 10 list worldwide this spring after consistently charting on Reels’ most used sounds globally. As further evidence of the song’s striking success, the track has reached over 4 BILLION consumption plays across all social platforms since January 2021.
Last month, the band released a reflective compilation album "The Best of Dirty Heads" to celebrate their career success with seven Top 20 hits over seven studio albums, alongside a new collaboration with legendary drummer Travis Barker and Aimee Interrupter of The Interrupters called “Rage” giving fans a taste of what’s to come on their next full–length project as Billboard noted that the collaboration, “gives the band's signature reggae rock sound a new gritty punk flavor”.
