Discover which Universal artists took home a GRAMMY Award!

Last night a lot of artists were put in the spotlight at the annual GRAMMY Awards. One of the artists who took home one or more GRAMMY's was Billie Eilish, who was named the winner of the Record of the Year category for her single “Everything I Wanted.” The dark-pop singer-songwriter makes history in more than one way with her second win in the coveted Record of the Year category, as she took home the top prize last year for her breakout smash “Bad Guy.” Eilish is just the fifth musical act to win Record of the Year twice, and she’s in truly prestigious company. She joins a club that includes Simon & Garfunkel, U2, Roberta Flack and Henry Mancini. When also looking at his solo music, Paul Simon advances to three wins. Billie is also the youngest artist to win more than one Record of the Year Grammy, as she is only 19.

Billie Eilish also won a second GRAMMY: she and her brother FINNEAS won the 2021 GRAMMY Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media. “No Time to Die” from the forthcoming, still-unreleased James Bond film No Time to Die picked up the win over songs from Taylor Swift, Cynthia Erivo, Brandi Carlile and Frozen 2.

Another artist who made music history today is the 26-year-old singer and multi-instrumentalist Jacob collier, as he became the first British artist of all time to win a GRAMMY Award for each of his first four albums; a major feat not achieved by even the most prolific of UK GRAMMY winners including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Sting, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Coldplay, Adele and Amy Winehouse. Jacob Collier earned his 5th career GRAMMY Award yesterday. Collier is a 7-time GRAMMY nominee and won the award for Best Arrangement, Instruments & Vocals for his song "He Won't Hold You" (Feat. Rapsody).

It was also a successful night for Deutsche Grammophon as Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic won Best Orchestral Performance for their recording of Charles Ives’ Complete Symphonies. It is the third time Gustavo has won a GRAMMY for his fruitful collaboration as Music and Artistic Director of the world-class orchestra, and also their second consecutive win.

Multi-GRAMMY-winning pianist and producer Robert Glasper this year won a GRAMMY for Best R&B Song. After securing two nominations for his 2019 surprise-release mixtape, F*ck Yo Feelings, and 2020 symbolic hymn "Better Than I Imagined" featuring H.E.R. and Meshell Ndegeocello - an ode to Black love that features two of the most powerful female voices in contemporary music - Glasper continues to affirm his legacy in music after nearly two decades of continuously breaking the mold.

Legendary singer-songwriter James Taylor won his sixth overall GRAMMY award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for his critically acclaimed album American Standard at the 63rd annual GRAMMY Award ceremony.
