Dive into the summer with Lenny Lenny’s new single "She Only Loves You (In The Summertime)"

Today Lenny Lenny, the musical solo-project of Lennert Coorevits, shares his second official single ‘She Only Loves You (In The Summertime)’. If debut single 'Tambourine' was a danceable funk romp, ‘She Only Loves You’ digs a little deeper and shows off his chops for writing intricate vocal harmonies and captivating song structures. The lyrics catch the ear pretty instantly, too. While definitely tongue-in-cheek, they essentially paint a picture of two people on totally different wavelengths.

‘She Only Loves You (In The Summertime)' gives us a warm welcome with slide guitars and dreamy chords. What follows next harkens back to the glory days of piano-driven craftsmanshiftby people like Carole King, Paul McCartney or Elton John. Combined with sprawling synth sounds and a modern mix, the song makes for a joyful experience.

"It's about two people who have different ideas of life and their future together. Sometimes I see relationships and I think: how does that work? And for how long?" says Lenny Lenny. "Or when you see a couple where one person is feeling rather down, the other sometimes tries to be extra cheery and happy to have almost equal balance."

Besides the creation of a new musical universe, Lennert also pays close attention to the creation of a matching visual style. The music video for ‘Tambourine’, created by Brian Van Es, already offered a first glimpse of that world. Ghent and Antwerp are bathed in a seventies-inspired glow, while the overall aesthetic feels airy, effortless and feel-good. Lenny Lenny’s universe carries a distinct signature; a feast for the eyes, ears and hips. A new video for ‘She Only Loves You (In The Summertime)’ will follow soon.

About the name Lenny Lenny Lennert explains the following: “The project is very personal and close to my skin. But I still see Lenny Lenny as an alter ego that dares just a bit more than I do,” Lennert explains. “An amplification of my style, my influences, my stories. ‘Regular’ Lenny creates it, Lenny Lenny dares to project and push the pedal to the metal.”
