Domic drops new single ‘Living on the Run’
The beginning of the end for an ambitious metal trilogy.
With a quarter-century of grit in the Chilean rock and metal scene, veteran frontman Paulo Domic has unleashed his latest single, ‘Living on the Run’. This release signals the beginning of the final chapter of a six-year discographic journey, cementing his definitive sound with the upcoming album, Where Echoes End.
After cutting his teeth on 70s rock roots with his debut Travelling Soundtrack for the End of Times (2019) and channeling classic heavy metal power on The Ancient Lie (2021), DOMIC has evolved toward a contemporary synthesis. ‘Living on the Run’ stands as a slab of modern heavy metal, defined by pristine production standards and a melodic focus that champions solid songwriting over mere nostalgia.
“This single is a quest for personal peace”, Domic states. “It’s the story of someone who decides to stop fighting futile battles against a cruel reality, choosing instead to find refuge in their own tranquility. It’s about seeking validation from within rather than from the outside world. Musically, it serves as a bridge to an album that isn't afraid to traverse diverse landscapes, always anchored by a modern aesthetic”.
Where Echoes End is set to be a showcase of eclecticism, weaving together currents ranging from high-velocity neoclassical metal and epic doom with progressive undertones, to the raw edge of modern hard rock and the emotional depth of blues. This sonic diversity is entwined with a lyrical narrative inspired by personal experience and universal literature, delivering thematic depth rooted in existential reflection, resilience, and a detachment from individualism.
The project’s backbone is Domic’s undeniable pedigree. Having fronted prominent Chilean acts such as Inquisición and QueenMilk, he has shared the stage with titans of the genre including Judas Priest, KISS, Whitesnake, Scorpions, and Deep Purple. The lineup is rounded out by a powerhouse team of local heavyweights: Carlos Hernández on drums, Cristian Maturana on bass, and Nicolás Arce on guitar and production duties.
