Dominic Fike releases "Rocket"

Today, Dominic Fike returns from a personal hiatus with a new mixtape Rocket via Columbia Records. On the 12-track mixtape we find Fike as deeply personal as ever, reflecting on recent life events while showing personal growth and maturity.

Fike continues to find beauty in harrowing-but-tender emotional bloodletting. His own fusion of hip-hop and sun-damaged rock has captivated audiences around the world for his honesty and matter-of-fact lyrics. Rocket includes highlights like “Great Pretender,” which channels the mixtape’s trend of diaristic and forthright lyricism. Set to pulsating percussion and a woozy baseline, Dominic paints a vivid story of false pretenses.

Leading up to the release of Rocket, Dominic teased the mixtape with singles, “All Hands On Deck”, “Aftermath” and “Smile.” Again fusing his signature sonic palette, these songs are warm and confessional, with lyrics that capture where Fike is right now. He also shared a video for “All Hands on Deck,” an intimate performance with his son, shot live at main stage, Lollapalooza, and a traditional music video for “Aftermath/Smile” that captures him navigating a minefield.

In addition to his solo work and festival performances, Fike recently put out music with friend and collaborator, Kevin Abstract, under the name Geezer.
