Don’t Miss Lumen Ad Mortem’s new album "A Grave Ascent" (Hypnotic Dirge Records)

Formed in 2019, the band released their debut album Upon the Edge of Darkness in 2023 through Bitter Loss Records before bringing their live show to festivals and venues across Australia. With A Grave Ascent, Lumen Ad Mortem continue their work in anthemic black metal, combining fast tremolo riffs, heavy rhythm guitars, bass, synths and driving percussion with a colder, more atmospheric edge.

The album draws from themes of loss, death, vengeance and the will to endure, set against an ancient landscape where time and darkness make human existence feel small. Across seven tracks, the band move between speed, melody and slower, heavier passages, keeping the record intense without losing its sense of atmosphere.

A Grave Ascent was mixed by Patrick Pages Oliver at Blood Wolf Productions and mastered by Owen Gillett at O.G. Mastering. The album is available now on CD and digital formats, with the LP edition scheduled to ship in September 2026.
