Dove Cameron releases "Boyfriend"

Multi-hyphenate recording artist Dove Cameron released the music video for her self-assertive single “Boyfriend.” Directed by Lauren Sick, the music video introduces both a darker and sexier side of the rising songstress. Presenting a sense of tunnel vision, the video opens by showcasing both Dove and her love interest (Charlene Lefever) surrounded by a group of faceless partygoers. The instant that the two notice one another, a steamy romance soon begins. “Boyfriend” made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU and on the Paramount Times Square billboards.

The recently released track, which has accumulated over 100 million streams on Spotify, can be best described as an empowered piece of noir-pop turned massively beloved queer anthem. Since its release, "Boyfriend" peaked at #10 on the Spotify U.S. chart and at #9 on the UK Official chart. Currently, the track is sitting at an impressive #19 on the U.S. Top 40 Pop Chart.
