Dutch trio Geoff Wyld to release debut EP and single Daydreamer

Dutch trio Geoff Wyld will release their debut EP titled Daydreamer on 11 September via M-PX, the label of Muziekgieterij in Maastricht. Today they release the new single and title track of the EP, Daydreamer.

Daydreamer is, as the title already says, about daydreams. Everyone has a daydream every now and then and it can be different for everyone. You can dream about your beloved, about the idyllic life you would like to have or maybe about your dream job. Daydreams are, especially in difficult times, a short getaway to another dimension. But what if you could give your dreams a chance? Although they sometimes seem so far away or can be disrupted abruptly or may never come true at all. It can also bring you much beauty. That's why frontman Leroy Huis sings: 'I'm a daydreamer'.

The recording process of the EP was a wonderful experience that Geoff Wyld cherishes. The band is Artist In Residence at the Muziekgieterij and working with M-PX was instructive. The recording process was not always easy and the EP was recorded twice. The first time, everything was recorded with clicktrack, but during the mixing, the band found out that it didn't sound the way they wanted. The band changed everything around and then recorded the EP again but now completely live. "Then it sounded so much better and organic that we continued with those recordings. With the experience of Rob Driessen and Ingmar van Wijnsberge we were able to make this beautiful EP, we could only have dreamed of this" - says Patrick Claessens. He continues: "We are very happy that we got this opportunity from the Muziekgieterij and M-PX. After all, it's a dream come true."

Geoff Wyld songs echo the rugged nature of the Dutch south Limburg hills. With the breathtaking peacefulness of a group of blossoming cherry trees in the sun, over which dark clouds suddenly seem to appear out of nothing, with a stormy wind raging out and bending the trees. Indie psychedelia infused with catchy guitar melodies, languid pumping bass lines and heavy beats are broken up beautifully.

The title track Daydreamer is out now. "In the music video, we particularly tried to reflect our identity as Geoff Wyld. The environment where we were going to shoot the video clip was important to us. Nature had to be clear, but also the simplicity that can be heard in the single. Because all three of us come from the natural Limburg and two of us from the hilly south, we chose to film in the tri-border region, among other places". Watch the video below.

On 11 September Geoff Wyld will play their release show at De Muziekgieterij, Maastricht. Tickets go on sale on 20 July.
