edapollo releases new Foreign Family Collective single “Opalescent”  

edapollo invites listeners to a world of nostalgia with the new Foreign Family Collective single “Opalescent.”

“Opalescent is a joyful and emotional track, constructed around atmospheric synths, intricate percussion, and dreamy vocal samples that makes for a truly captivating listening experience. Its delicate beauty and intricate composition is sure to leave a lasting impression on the listener.

‘I came up with this track when I was in Berlin last August, I was in an Airbnb and I was messing around with an idea I had. It’s the first track I've used some African-type tribal vocal chants which was new territory for me. I'd never thought it worked with anything I’ve done previously, but for this track, it seemed to really click and create the kind of emotion I was looking for at that moment,’ edapollo says.

He continues, ‘I wrote this after playing live for the first time in Melbourne last June and after that point, I had this new energy to write some more up-tempo stuff. It gave me this new energy to write tracks that would work well in the live set. I think my upcoming album is by far the most uptempo danceable stuff I’ve made. “Opalescent” really stood out with live sets I did with Mild Minds, I could see the crowd really reacting and that felt good.’

edapollo is UK native, Melbourne-based producer Ed Bidgood. He independently self-released two albums ‘Endless Cascades’ (2019) and ‘Blue Spring’ (2021) which both received widespread critical acclaim from blogs, tastemakers & radio, with regular support from the likes of BBC Radio, Sirius XM, Worldwide FM, Triple J and more allowing him to reach many new listeners and top up over 50 million streams across DSPs. In 2022 he launched his live show with a sold-out show in Melbourne (Aus) and London (UK), before touring the US in January 2023 playing a run of sold-out shows supporting Mild Minds. 2023 is the start of a new chapter of music, with a new album 'Technicolour Places' out in July 2023 and more touring recently announced (tour dates below), it’s a very exciting time ahead.
