Elektronic punk brother duo goldgoldgold releases new single 'Kill' from debut EP

The Danish electronic punk brother duo goldgoldgold has set the release of their self produced debut EP ‘siac’ - standing for ‘sun is a catastrophe’ - for August 26th through Copenhagen imprint Bad Posture. This past March saw the release of the debut single ‘Raqqa (da da da)’, in June the second single ‘sun is a catastrophe’ was delivered alongside a DIY-video and today, the duo releases the EP’s third single ‘Kill - stating on the song:

“Kill is an explosion of feelings - a manifestation of a romantic and desperate mental breakdown, reflecting upon themes such as growing apart from close relations and the confrontation with anxiety. Besides this emotional narrative, ‘Kill’ is also a serious take on making punk/rock music of our time, as we hear it.”

goldgoldgold consists of the Copenhagen brothers William Stefan Hoffman & August Christian Hoffmann (also in Pumps and Søn, respectively). goldgoldgold seeks an open space of creation, where they fusion the spirit of punk with the free form of electronic music into a sound which they call ‘ambient rock’ or ‘electronic punk’.

goldgoldgold was founded in the Copenhagen underground with the urge to express shared feelings and memories of individuals within an affluent and comfortable, yet ever-changing Scandinavian society. The duo debuted in late 2019 with the soundcloud mixtape “paintings”, getting coverage in Danish music media and playing a few sold out Copenhagen shows before the lockdowns.

On the debut-EP ‘siac’, goldgoldgold delivers their own upfront version of punk rock for the future. The listener is immersed in a fragmented sonic narrative of digital post punk, hard hitting industrial/techno bangers and ambient noise hymns, which in summation presents a tale of before, during and after an anxiety attack: The day the sky came down and the sun was a catastrophe.
